I'm willing to bet this car gets bought for $4k or less, and the guts go in another car.

Which is worse:

1. The car going to derby?
2. The drivetrain going in a B-Body?
3. Some unknowing halfwit buys the car and posts here asking how to put airbags on it?

The car has been posted for a few weeks. @Marv started a discussion here exactly a month ago.

One must conclude yet again, unfortunately, that there are not many takers for 4dr sedans -- a pity.

Sweet car. But I do get a kick out of the notice that it has a 440. Really? How many '70 New Yorkers had some other engine?

It's not what I'd call common knowledge for anyone that isn't an enthusiast.

I agree with that, it still makes me laugh though.

I get a similar kick out of people who sell a '70-'74 E body and say, "Two door." Or sell any Cadillac from the '70s and say "Automatic Transmission." Ha!

Nice car at a sane (for a change) price. Hope someone, who will drive and appreciate it, buys it and takes good care of it.

The good news for the car is that it's (in all likelihood, looking at the air cleaner) a T-code: if it had been a U-code 440, its heart would probably already have been plucked. This said, in the earlier thread, @Marv had keenly observed that there is some bubbling under the vinyl -- so a good set of eyes is needed. I also note the lack of washer bottle (not unexpected) and the rather non-standard rejigging of AC/heater hoses (difficult to see though they may be). On the plus side, the car still looks like it has its original paint and stripes, and I see very little rust on the body (including the lower rear quarters).

Hopefully it goes to a good home! @frankthetank81

It seems to be a nice looking car overall with reasonable care, but any C body with 122K miles will need considerable refreshing to make it a dependable and enjoyable driver. I would hope the brakes are disc but the listing only mentions work done to wheel cylinders and other related items. There remains likely work to be done to replace head gaskets, timing chain, refresh the automatic transmission with seals/clutch friction discs, maybe bushings, etc. Then will the a/c work, or is it important and is the heater core still good? We also don't know whether the power steering system has been serviced in the recent past either or the condition of the steering system ball joints and bushings, leaks present in the gear or other possible issues. The radiator is aftermarket so it has been changed out, which suggests there may have been rust in the coolant over time. And as mentioned, bubbles under the vinyl could be a concern. And replacing power window motors are no fun and tedious. Overall a nice car if you are into 4 doors, but I believe he will need to bring the price down some to sell it in this day and age given the money and time needed to make it into a nice driver that is well sorted out. And then, does a drooping dash pad bother you? And so on............

This song reflects the reality at hand in this case, and she has done a pretty good job herself at doing so as well as anyone. Great performer in my book and still has it!

Hopefully the car has been rebuilt a few less times than most Hollywood types. This 4Dr is still viable as a daily driver with the usual repairs to make it road worthy. It is not a viable restoration project given the current low values of 4Dr C-Bodys. I would think that about $2.5k assuming it is solid would be a fair value.

2. With three at least the car is being kept intact

Over in Europe big 4 doors are popular. Maybe it will find a home over there. Anyone know how much it is to ship this barge on a barge to Europe?? Can't imagine all the smaller fees on top of the shipping ,customs ,insurance etc.

Option 1 is worse, but probable.
Speaking of option 2, there's a clean '68 LeBaron being sold locally, minus engine/trans, at least there's hope for it yet.

Given the other 2 options sometimes it is better to burn out than fade away.
