Hello everyone!
I have a 71 Fury, 318 motor, 727 transmission. There is no kickdown on my engine. I can not find on junkjard in Russia this linkage. Is it possible to replace it with a cable, such as this: CHRYSLER MOPAR 727 STAINLESS BRAIDED KICKDOWN CABLE 727 TRANS. DETENT #6056 | eBay . Or should it just be a hard pull like this: 318 727 KICK DOWN LINKAGE SET 71-73 BARRACUDA CHALLENGER CHARGER SATELLITE MOPAR | eBay
Thanks!

Yes, you're right, it is very expensive. Cable is cheaper. But does it replace this linkage completely for 100%?
I need to wait about 2 more months for the car for details. As far as I know, driwing without this linkage can damage the gearbox.
And in part car there is a 360 motor that will rebuild with the box. My 318 motor I want to complete and sell later.

I do recommend using the Lokar kickdown cable which replaces all the kickdown linkage.
Once installed easy to adjust and very reliable
Hope this helps.

I have a few Mopar friends who LOVE the Lokar. They use it for their modified manifold/carb setups where the OEM linkage is not possible.

Oh, and what you have heard about driving without the "kickdown" is true. It does more than just "kickdown" at full throttle, which is why it is actually called a "transmission throttle lever" in the Service Manual. Basically, it increases internal hydraulic pressures on the various things in there so that clutches and bands are applied properly with increased power as the throttle is opened.

In short, it's really bad to drive without it.
