I am a bit nervous about some areas. Heater core bypassed. Rust. Headliner wet from roof rust. Trunk sprung at hinge passenger side. Dude dropped price to $4500.

Styling preferences aside, if I were spending 4k on a early 60's Mopar I would go after the 61 Plymouth that is also listed here. Looks to be in much better shape .

You're rightfully nervous. Unless (even if) you are an expert metal fabricator, that cowl and roof rust looks serious. Can't help but wonder what other secrets are hidden (floor and trunk pans etc)There are experts here, but from my amature prospective, it looks like a potential money pit. I realize '60 Dodges aren't on every street corner, but you might be better to find a more solid project or if that's what you just have to have, continue looking for another complete solid car. You might be $ ahead. Best of luck!!

Car hasn’t been driven in 6 years. 50k on rebuilt 361. It snowed yesterday otherwise I wouldn’t have seen the soaked headliner.

Parts car sorry to say. Way to costly to fix that rust, and there will be more bad areas than what you, showed.
That looped heater hose is on both sides of the heater control valve. The heater core is inside the big plastic housing on the firewall.
That is factory A/C on that car.
$4500? He is way high on the price.

Thanks. It was listed at $8500!

Sadly all those Exner curves made for a lot of ways to rust on these beauties.

Pity.

Lots of expensive issues there. The rust you can see is just the tip of the ice berg, especially on a vehicle that has been repainted once already.
It's cool that it is a factory A/C car, but I'd run away as fast as possible.

That roof leak kind of did me in on the car. My body guy says it’s a difficult repair to do and expensive. Like you said, more rust than meets the eye. I hate to see it rot away but I am limited on the money I can throw into one. On the plus side, my Sport Fury is running well and I can drive it.

If any of you Forward Look folks see this, the guy is VERY motivated to sell the car. I suspect some of the parts in the car are hard to get. Might be had cheap for parts.

You get what you pay for. $4500 is not a bad price for a much sought after 60 Dodge. Very few out there and the styling is really eye-popping. Rust is an issue, but can be fixed (as anyone in the MidWest knows all too well). If it was a lesser car, I would say run, but a 60 Dodge is not a regular car, and one that I see very rarely for sale - anywhere. If I did not have three (maybe 4) Forward Look cars that I need to finish and sell-off to concentrate on other Mopars, I would be very, very seriously interested...
57-60 Dodges, 60 Chryslers and Imperials, 57-58 Desotos, and 57-59 Plymouths are about the best looking cars ever. Well-known to rust, but, Beautiful Beasts.... Your money, but don't look back with regret if you pass on this one..

Rust...for what you don't see add 50% more damage.
Water in the roof but where does the water go? Into the structure of the unibody which is where I would be concerned.
I agree with others the 61 Plymouth is a better car condition wise.

I like the 61 even with GM running gear. Thing is, I do not have the space, time or resources for a major project that could take years. My 68 is a daily, which I can work on weekends or take out of service for brief time periods.

I like the Forward Look cars a lot, but it just isn’t in the cards for me now.

If you want one, find another one. This isn't the one you want.

I'd expect that to restore this car right, you'll spend another $30k and several years.
