I remember my parents trying out one used. It was the X100, crème yellow w/black out rear. This car interests me but I sent him an email asking for any pictures of the rust spots described, underside and inside of trunk. He never responded. I also asked if he has the X100 missing from front fender. Once again never responded. Anyone nearby if needed? any comments from the peanut gallery is accepted.

i love these things, always wanted 1.
but it would have to have the optional buckets and console shift

Love the Marauders of this era.

Nice car here. Personally prefer the console cars (marko beat me to it - i was fetching pictures) . $8K is best I would do on it sight unseen .. perhaps more if answers to your legitmate questions Pete, plus eyes on/butt in seat personally. something kookie going on with backseat photo.

couple observations.

Sellers dont respond? they never hear from me again. I never chase sellers -- always disaapoint me in the end. I wouldn't contact them if i wasn't interested and capable of buying whatever it is.

Not commenting on this seller (I am sure he/she is a fine person), but "Contact me by email through Ebay with any questions or concerns, and if your interested in just the rolling chassis. You won't be disappointed with this vehicle" --- sorry, but that usually is a show stopper.

I mean .. it aint money anymore for me .. its principle. Who tears up an original car in this apparent condition -- for a not-so-special Thunderjet/C6 you can get anywhere? Car's worth to me is its complete original state.

IMHO, the lack of response means the car can't stand your scrutiny and you aren't the buyer he's looking for. 2¢

Sure looks to me like it's got to be worth 8G's. But those pictures weren't taken in Vegas.

Damn I like that car but I'm ignorant about the market for these cars.
My initial first reaction from the gut said 4k but...

Concur, I really thought this generation of Merc and LTD was beautiful, especially in a convertible. I thought the 300, Sport Fury and these nailed the full size muscle vibe. GM...had nothing in my opinion, the boxy Impala SS roof line in 69 ruined it, and the Wildat had just become...well ugly. No other GM divisions had full size cars, that I would say, matched a full size muscle package (looks and performance) like these.

And when I talk performance...yes its relative. In these 2 ton boulevard cruisers that means that a 15-17 sec quarter mile was all you were gonna get in stock form.

Stan I'm totally confused about prices too. My biggest problem is what is the difference between asking prices and actual sale prices. I know I've put up a couple of cars for sale and priced them according to what I've seen on the various for sale sources. Nothing for responses. No interest at all for the going asking prices. So is an offer of $4000 on this $8000 Merc going to get it done? I dunno, maybe?

I learned to drive on the Monterey 4-door sedan version of this car my great aunt owned at the time. I think hers had the 429 V-8, and remember it as a nice driving car. Better road feel than that "marshmallow" Grand Marquis she had in the mid 70's........It had interval windshield wipers, which were a novel/new option then. These Marauder X-100's are pretty cool if/when you see them in person.

Will he get $8K for this one? doubtful, but I guess he can dream of muscle car cachet with it. Hope it finds a good home.

$8K for a #3 car such as this is pretty close to the book value. Now as to the actual buyer value it is probably less, as always, since the market for huge cars is so small.

At this closed yard where they will be crushing out next month. There is a 70 X100 there. It's a aqua Blue color. I'm unsure if there is a motor? Looked restorable buried in berry vines.
Surrounded by 50 cars door handle to door handle. I think it will go cheap if they will let it go.
Located in Northern California. I will check into it and get some pics if anybody has any interest?

Yet one on BAT is at $15k. It needs a paint job plus the bidding jumped from $2700 to $10k in 30 minutes by one bidder. I smell a inside job.

I can't stand BAT. Most of the people rattle on about how they had a car like that or how they wish they had a car like that. Boring. None of them provide any constructive information about the car.

Last August when in Ohio visiting my dad, the hotel I stayed at had a Mercury car show happening the same weekend. There were 3 Mauraders there.

BaTS is in the Auction Business now, anything that is 'detrimental' (honest opinion) is deemed "as not constructive" to a post and deleted. p00f! it's gone!
And of course plenty of BaT FanBoi's in there to flag ya out. Waste of time IMO.

It is the true *NEW* Scientology of the Internet, you can't say anything other than 'Paff'.
FaceBuuk is famous for it now, nothing but, Aw get better, wish you well/all the best, Happy Birthdays etc... Any group that's real gets removed because some phoouckwit felt that they were Bullied.

The Manx TT motorcycle forum was a prime example, back in the late 90's people would take the internet to seriously, there was a lot of good craic in the forum but some would just as they say in the UK "Throw the toys out of the pram" and since the forum was run by the Manx Government, oh the liability ya know.
The sister site is still up but since some spat between two members (one called The Witch) and the subsequent banning no one dares post much of anything.
