Anybody had any success in hiding an ignition coil on a 68' C-body without air conditioning? Was looking at the inside firewall however doesn't seem to be much room.
Where to hide coil on 68' 300?

Why hide it? And why is this posted in the “welcome wagon” forum?
Generally, the coil wire needs to be reasonably short for best results. "Hiding it" will only make it longer and can affect the ultimate voltage the spark plugs see, due to the resistance/foot of the coil wire. Might not be enough loss to matter in many cases, but it still needs to be as short as possible.
Hiding an ECU is another issue, which CAN be done without harm.

When I switched to an HEI I make a plate that bolted to the heater box bolts on the firewall and attached the coil to that plate.

Do you have a big block or small block? Are you trying to hide a factory style coil? On a big block, you can see if you have room to mount it to one of the fuel pump bolts. On a small block, I would think you could mount it behind the carb.
Hiding one of the HEI style coils is a different matter entirely. The module benefits from airflow for cooling. The HEI coil itself is difficult to hide.

Yes, 440 engine. I was considering locating the coil inside the cabin using an MSD firewall connector but appears to be almost impossible without about 3-4 feet of wire between the coil and coil. Probably not the best idea. I do have room behind the carburetor on the firewall. Was hoping I could clean up the bay. Thanks everybody.

On my big block, I mounted the coil where the fuel pump bolts on. Mine was a little easier to mount as I had a flat cover instead of a fuel pump there (using electric fuel pump). I had toyed with the idea of mounting the coil next to the distributor. On the same angle, using a modified mount. I had one of the mounts that clamps to the base of the coil, sort of stands the coil vertically. I have no idea where that mount came from, it was just in my stash. I'll have to see if I still have any pictures of either mount.
