Just curious, but does anyone know if the 1965 Fury line was available with "Heater Delete"? If so, what does it look like? I have seen the Radio Delete and Clock delete panels. I am just wondering for no particular reason.

Some Mopars that were exported to Puerto Rico were heater delete.
Not sure how to narrow that down to 65 Fury.
There is a fender tag code for it too. But I cannot remember it off the top of my head
I remember reading in a magazine a brown Slant Six 72 Demon exported there and was factory heater delete.

I always thought the only heater delete cars in the '60's were "A" or "B" body factory hot rods. But with Ma MoPar anything was possible I suppose.

I think some of them that were shipped to Hawaii also were heater delete.

After a certain date, perhaps 1969, a defroster was required. But I have also seen Heater delete on 70s A-bodies sent to Hawaii.

FWIW, I saw the window sticker of a 60 Plymouth Savoy wagon my bought new. I remember the heater was listed a cost option so I assume you didn't have to get it on those.

You can only delete things that were standard.
Radios were always optional.
Therefore...there is a radio block off plate but there is no such thing as "radio delete".

;) pet peeve....

The 65 Dodge order sheet is very clear that code 406 Heater (which WAS standard) Delete was available.
This the best 65 Fury order sheet I have. I believe the highlighted portion shows HEATER DELETE 406 was available.

OK, so, does anyone know what 'Heater Delete 406' looks like in the car? I am just wondering if anyone has ever seen such a thing.

I read a few years back that porsche delete options rises the cost of the car. wtaf...

Prior to 1965 heaters were optional - thus no "heater delete". If you did not tick off the box for a heater/defroster, you got no heater. And the instrument panel came with the needed blank off hardware.

If you are looking for part numbers, and what is needed, the following are the groupings in the 1965 parts catalogue -

Without radio - 23-33-12 to 23-33-14
No electric clock - 23-33-20 to 23-33-22
No radio speaker (instrument panel) - 23-33-42 to 23-33-44
No defroster or heater - 23-33-65 to 23-33-73
Mouldings for instrument panels - 23-33-86 to 23-33-87

Should also point out if you are using the Canadian edition, Canadian-built Dodges used Fury instrument panels.

Mine looks like a few empty holes in the firewall with conduit knock out plugs in them. :confederateflag:

The 1965 Plymouth and Canadian 1965 Dodge had the moulding across the centre of the instrument panel with no holes for the heater controls (if no heater) and no holes for the radio, if there was no radio. The electric clock had a plate that covered the clock hole. If you wanted to install a radio, you also had to buy the correct instrument moulding.

The steel instrument panel itself had the necessary holes prestamped and used the plastic mouldings to cover up what was not installed.
