73 Imperial "McGoldy" to join the Minnesota herd.

This one may not need much. I'm always expecting something to leak or malfunction. It's just the way it is. As long as I can get her home, off the trailer into the Shawshank courtyard I'm gonna be happy for chapter one on this one. I'll start up her own thread soon. Think she was very well cared for by previous owner...just not wanted that much to keep her anymore... I guess. That works for me.

Nice to see something more unique (perhaps this was a common combination), never seen that vinyl top color before, looks good.

Well done Mike for saving these cars for future generations.
Thanks. It's not like I'm bringing them back from the dead or from a junkyard...I dont have those skills personally...however, I do enjoy grabbing some healthy ones sitting around that need a different home or TLC. My little herd does get plenty of attention, driven locally and regular health care.:D

Mess with the Mrs, and leave in McGoldy, and come back with this one, see if she notices.

My uncle who lives there sent me a photo of that one back in November! He said that it was perfect.

Keith McCormick's..... I'll be there this Friday for their annual February auction and show. Is it still there?
If you are out there soon...poke around and see if you can get a good look at it. It's ready to ship...supposed to be locked up and stored in the back...not sure if that's inside or outside. You might get a glimpse...even if from a distance or behind a fence, etc...

Looks super clean and straight, second nicest in your collection so far, my personal opinion.

At 1:32 into the video, it seems like either a shadow or a change in paint color at the leading edge of the passenger door, and it also looks like either a reflection on the right front of the bumper or a bad paint masking effort? Any clues what those might be from the auction guys? It seems they would have scraped off such a bad masking job though, but I would ask the question (was the car repainted if you know?). Kind of strange??

Does that paint look deeper/brighter than the color on your other one - it seems at least to be a little different than the paint chips for JY6, golder haze metallic in my color and trim selector for 1973 Chryslers/Imperials.

I noticed it too. But, believe to be a shadow as I did not see it in the photos. Sounds like a new paint job maybe 2 years ago. I bought it... so, when I get it home I'll get my typical photos out to the forum. The color may be a little darker or richer than stock. My other Y6 is a California original and is sunbaked to a nice faded satin finish. I couldn't pass on this one with the price cut from last year's auction in November.

I was just wondering if you knew what I was looking at - I don't disagree that you should have bought it, as it looks great and probably no one in the real world would be able to distinguish a little darker/brighter shade as not being original. It is virtually impossile to match colors from back in those days no matter how hard one tries, especially when the metallics are so fine in size since those metallics are not being produced anymore it seems. At least I have not been able to find really fine metallics in gold colors.

Steve, check out this photo. It's more direct sunlight.

I looked for it, poked around where I could, but couldn't see any sight of McGoldy....
I did have this pic that was sent to me in November though....

That's her (Hazel Anne/McGoldy is other Y6) She's probably locked up and tucked away safely. She's getting picked up Monday March 2nd. 3-5 days to get her to Minnesota. Enclosed trailer.

Pretty good weather in Minnesota this year. A little time with Ol' McGoldy today. Waiting for the other Palms Springs golden haze '73 to get here. Small delay on the transport end. No big deal.
