That is yummy man! Congrats to you!!!

Very nice, congrats! I’ll see you out there!

Congratulations! The car is a beauty. What is the back story? What still needs fixing? I'd also be interested in what inspired the PO to make a clone.

Congrats! It looks very nice (the car, lol). It would be nice to hear the back story. Is this the Canadian Newport which was made into a Hurst look-a-like?

Yes this car did come from Canada, and started life as a Newport. How did you know?

No clue on the inspiration, but I love it! It has an exhaust leak in the passenger manifold, need to replace the starter relay, radio is inop, as is the power trunk release, brake light is on, interior needs a good deep clean, and the dash needs to be freshened up. Then I'll go through it and make sure she is road ready

I got to hang around with her a bit in the mid/late 80s when she was flacking Edelbrock's "Performance Corner" marketing effort (putting typical, mostly Chevy speed parts in the corner of a typical auto parts store...valve covers, manifolds, bolt-on stuff). The A/Gasser I was involved with had a sponsorship ticket from them. We did joint appearances in the mid-Atlantic area, usually in conjunction with an NHRA Divisional event.

Anyway, she was simply a hoot and as sweet as sugar to everyone. She's the Dolly Parton of the car world. She deserves our continued adulation.

How much for that poster? :D
