1977 Chrysler Newport Battery Hold Down Bracket

Hey formal lovers, starting to get parts for the Newport. The battery and hold down are missing. I have been looking and unfortunately no one is making a reproduction. I did look on Vans Auto site and the one for a 73-74 "B" body looks very close. Has any one used this bracket before?

Yep. Looks like the same holdown on my 78 NYB.

Just make sure you check the height of the J-bolts before you slam the hood closed. Just in case they are too long....

I have Group 27 batteries in my Formal's.

My OE bracket looks that as well.. but! The piece that bolts to the Rad support is angled a bit more, not my best editing but you get the idea . I say buy it! You can always return it.

Let me know how it goes, my 74 needs a hold down and I think they are the same as a 77. Currently using zip ties and I’m not proud.

Yes. It was a last resort for me. But I spent some time modifying it to make it look and function like the original.
It doesn't fit right as-is. You have a MIG...

Good Morning Stan, no I do not have a mig. Is the one end on the wrong angle to the core support? If that is the case, I can get the truck hold down and make an extension bracket. Would you have a picture of the one in your car?
