The new ride!

I was talking with my dealer buddy up north. He was saying they were having trouble with the air suspensions in the cold up there. I’d be pretty pissed to be spending more $$ to convert it back springs. Does make you wonder how they will be in the long run.

Good to know on the locker! Thanks! Don’t feel to bad about it not having it now.

I got the SiriusXM activation stuff in an email, but honestly have no desire for it... The tracking it would be a pretty cool feature though.

I have not tried the voice activation stuff yet. Will have to look into it this weekend when I have more time to play with it.

I would have to agree! Very impressive trucks!

Dave, go drive one! LOL

Zac, I activated the Scat Pack and I'm going to activate the Redeye. If nothing else I want the theft tracking feature for both those cars.

Maybe not on your Pete, but as Graham will tell you there have been problems right out of the box on these, and sometimes parts availability was an issue.
Yes you have not been able to get the compressor for a long time. That system is nothing like the system on my big truck. It moves nitrogen in and out of the bags and tank using no outside air. If you neglect the system, once the pressure drops below a certain number it replaced it with air from the compressor that sits and does nothing until this happens. It is usually locked up or frozen and destroys itself. I went through this list of problems with the air suspension on my wife's Jeep. You have to treat it like a A/C system. If air gets in it must be evacuated to remove moisture then recharged with dry/high quality nitrogen. Anything else is going to ruin the mass air control unit. So yes these are problematic for people who do not maintain. I was one of them. Never again. I check the pressure in it every 3-4 months and have to fill it once a year. Springs are easier but they will not ride as nice, or level.
Yes my wife's Jeep runs with a bad compressor. I understand that a new vehicle with a dealer tech working on it should be 100% right. This is why I have used cars I get them to work and no it's not 100% bit you never know if I keep the nitrogen tank charged. When the control unit craps out or a $800 strut shits the bed, it will be converted to spring ride and probably gone shortly after.
My wife's Jeep does not sit out in the cold except when she is at work. Maybe that why I haven't had any more problems. I agree that the system is pretty complicated, it is German in origin.

No issues so far with the air suspension on my 18 3500. In fact I really like the features like alternate trailer height which raises and lowers to obtain the right level, and transport mode which I use to lower the truck to avoid lifting my trailer so high to get over the gooseneck ball. Plus it provides a nicer empty ride having fewer leafs. Not sure how much these things would apply to a 1500 where you’re not towing heavy loads but air suspension should increase the payload capacity.

The Sirius XM kick ***, Zac! give it a shot for the free trial period, you'll be hooked!

The system on your truck is different than the system on the 1500 Terry and hasn’t been an issue. The big problem we were having as Dave said was compressors but also ran into issues with the position sensors mounted on the frames. You end up squatted down in the rear and high in the front or vice versa....but then the kids like that nowadays lol...

Graham, do you recommend getting the full XM Guardian Package?

Will they send somebody out to fix a flat tire since my Scat Pack and Redeye doesn't have a spare?

The Guardian is free for the first year Bob then once you are hooked they hit you with the subscription. I like the service and if you don't mind the monthly nickel and diming then yes I would get it for at least the first 3 years. Roadside will send out a tow service to assist with a flat but as you only have the inflator kit that's all they will likely do. I would suggest you have it flat decked to a Dealer to get the tire repaired as there is nothing a mechanic hates more than fixing a flat full of inflator foam.

Thanks. I think it's a good deal too.

If the Scat Pack or Redeye breaks down for whatever reason I would never leave either vehicle on the side of the road and would at a minimum flat deck it to the nearest Mopar dealer.

I may give it a try, for atleast the free trial part. I use the phone for music purposes 99.9% of the time. But I do like the tracking aspect of it.

Zac, another thing you might want to look at is floor liners from Husky. Super heavy duty.

Floor Mats, Car Mats, Truck Mats, Mud Flaps – Husky Liners

This are nice Bob!! They match pretty good too. I do like the factory long horn ones though too.....

I think somebody has been shopping...... lol

I feel like a parent who has sent his kid off to college. The new owner of the Monaco sent me some pics today. She made the journey without incident to Boston. He seems very happy to have her. So odd seeing your baby through the phone in somebody else’s hands....

On a good note. This last weekend we pulled the Caravelle out to decided it’s fate. She’s been sitting needing fixed this last year. We went all out detailing her this last weekend! Complete wash, polish, wax, ceramic coating, interior cleaning, and chrome and plastic polish.

We dropped it off at one last local mechanic to try and repair. Holy ****! She’s running again! I noticed when we pulled her out some coolant was missing. Before taking it in, I filled it back up. Turns out she had a hole in the radiator, and was tripping a sensor being low. I’m not gonna pretend like I even remotely know much about this 80’s fuel injected car..... LOL.

Any way, Ned radiator installed, filled back up and she’s running almost like a top again. Still has a somewhat dead spot in the throttle. But she’s driveable again.

Now somebody doesn’t want to get rid of her...... LOL

The FL summer sun is starting to show its face again. Had to make use of all the empty space in the garage. Got the fleet all out up inside. There’s even a Newport in there somewhere...
