Going to look at a 73 Imperial this weekend.

Actually, this topic has come up just lately in our house as I'm cleaning and fixing things around the house and as I'm waiting to go back to relative normalcy and fixing broken teeth, etc. Which will happen. Our company is a corporate dental group with 51 clinics which appears to be weathering the storm pretty well. We are donating masks, etc. We just have to flatten the curve for the best outcome for all. Our state seems to be leading the way with social distancing. Anyway, the wifey has stated recently even before this virus pandemic hit to shrink my herd to "six". Of course, I laughed it off...I'm healthy as a horse and not going anywhere. But, then reality smacks you right in the face how mortal you can be. What if I die? I'm not twenty anymore! :stop: And I have these monstrous beasts hidden away and with keys, insurance and titles to deal with for her. She said that's the magic number is "6" if she had to liquidate on her own if I would perish from this virus or even a heart attack, cancer, etc... She even picked out the ones she likes the most.
So, the Imperials I am contemplating selling are: LiL Red, Big Red, Shirley Pickles and Tina Patina. This isn't a financial decision or hardship. This virus pandemic has actually been a reality check to get a plan in place so that my Imperials are going to be in good hands after I'm gone. I'm trying to avoid a logistical nightmare for her to sell to the right people and therefore want the best future caretakers. My peace of mind would be "in check" or "at ease" if any forum members had an interest in those particular ones. PM me if you have any interest.

So she finally caught up with you....:poke:

I'm in the same boat. Gotta pare back some.

I definitely need to get a will started for the remaining herd once I've condensed a bit. Or at least a plan for how and where they will be processed once I'm gone. I want them to be enjoyed and available for future generations. There aren't that many on the road.

Maybe the best idea is what I arranged after dad died and later after moving to Christchurch. Namely, having wills and enduring medical and financial powers of attorney, so Fiona is saved the hassles once I've died, I needed them in both countries as, Aussie law doesn't apply here nor Kiwi law there. My investment portfolio is held in trust by my lawyers so the income stream continues rather than selling it all and distributing the cash.

I realize its different in the USA where death duties apply, they no longer exist here.

The main thing is to make it simple for Mrs McNeedy, the lawyer will advise what they require and take care of everything.

Stay safe Mike, sure would like to spend more time with you in future, but at least we had the pleasure of few minutes at the storage facility.

The Gray one is so lovely.Maybe one will show up one day.But you,re being responsible,I made sure i had beneficiaries on my Roth,401k,and IRA.I don,t have a technical will at the moment but am seriously thinking about it.Gov. Hogan here in Maryland has been very responsible and is not a wishfull thinker. He,s a cancer survivor very recently and is in a vulnerable group. You just can,t take anything for granted, alot of us could get sick or worse. Please use safe distance from people and don,t shake hands, hug,or let alot of different people in your homes at the moment.I have a friend in Florida who won,t even let her sister touch her mom in any way.And Florida is going to explode with these cases since they took to long to implement policies. But a good dentist is worth their wait in gold,to.Heh.B.B
