Didn't know those "Lambo" hinges would reliably support that much weight.

Depending on how bad the door posts were screwed up to make the lambo conversion, the car should be worth the asking price if the mods can be reversed, it does not look like the body has a lot of rust but there does appear to be rotten bondo on the lower part of the rear quarters.. If the door post has been butchered, this is probably a parts car but probably still worth close to the asking price for parts for another vert restoration probably in the $1k-$1.2k range assuming the engine can be made to run.

Just because something CAN be done doesn't necessarily mean that it SHOULD be done . . .
And I'd be wondering on the torsional forces in the cowl region - what with Unibody, and never designed for those directional loads. And convertible to boot, without the bracing from the roof. Would be interesting to take a peek underneath to see if it's already starting to twist itself into a pretzel . . .

If had $3k to throw away, I'd snap it up. ($1500 for the asking price, and the other to put it on the road) If nothing else, at this point, it could be made into a pickup truck, sort of like an Imperial "flower getter" I saw on this forum once. I like the idea of an El Newporto, so long as I don't have to rely on such as my SOLE transportation.
