Well there you have it.

Wow...

That is the 405 looking north, east of Santa Monica. When I went to work, I took that (left the house @ 5am) and it was jammed, but moving. (My drive into work took an hour- 55 minutes - 55 miles, if I would have left an hour later, it would have taken an extra 30 minutes)
On my way home, I took PCH and on a good day it took me 1:45...

I saw something from CHP that with the low traffic count they are getting more high speed tickets, and the accidents they have attended have been much more severe than normal.

I saw that too with a stack of tickets exceeding 100 as the image. I'm just glad I wasn't the only one thinking about taking advantage of the situation. Of course I'm too old (and broke) to participate in that kind of thing now...

I will say our local mid-day traffic here has slowed to an early Saturday morning kind of volume.

When the first regional shelter-in-place directive came out, traffic in DFW was much less than what it had been. To a level, during the day, like it was about 30 years ago. Which was nice as I'm out in it during the day. But starting last Thursday, traffic increased a bit, even on I-20. But morning traffic is still much less than it had been, just more of it than it was initially.

Neat picture!

Yup. It’s absolutely nuts. I was going to our store off the 5 by Magic Mountain and multiple idiots passed me on the right at well over 100. I was doing 70 in a 65 zone and i was in the middle. So bad right now my wife takes city streets to work.

Mayor Yoga pants said on the radio today they are going to extreme enforcement in Greater Lost Angeles. God help you if you’re going that fast now. Big dollar ticket and maybe jail unless you’re illegal or a hobo w no tags or insurance then they just let you go. A bunch of the maniacs I see have paper plates (non registered).

There is a scrap yard in NorCal on a Navy base that I go to almost everyday with scrap metal.
They were unloading some unusual homeland security police trucks at the base.
These are what the trucks looked like. Looks like riot control vehicles? Kinda makes you go Hmmm.

We run to New Orleans and Baton Rouge daily. Rush hour is now a speed limit ride. The guys are enjoying the lack of traffic overall, everywhere.

Yea and on the news, 5,000 NYPD are out on sick leave, I know they lost 1 to C-VID.
Here in Daytona Beach it was announced on the radio this morning that a 10pm to 5am curfew is going to be implemented with more non-essential business's ie. barbers & hair salon's being required to close. Statewide the opposing forces are requesting more of a lock down right now as our cases go up, the Governor is against it, but the Mayor of Miami has COVID. It's soon to be hell down there I'll bet.

The past couple of days to me the traffic seems to be what I would call moderate for this area, late night hours are pretty dead with just the druggie's out and about whether on foot or driving. Lotta battery arrests showing up in the mugshot web-page, things are getting tense.

I'm surprised nobody chat'ed up the supposed troop deployment to the Canadian Border.
I first heard about it watching the British Colombia Canada news. They spent quite a bit of time on it with no mention on the news here in the USA and were all in a tizzy over it with a soundbite from the PM about having a non-militarized border, blah blah blah, and "who wants to sneak into the US at this time". The only response from our Bozo in Chief was that they were sneaking in steel from China through Canada, trucking it across the border avoiding the tariff's. Duh it's been pretty well known that Canada is China's NAFTA back door.

Was it not already like that? Now wonder you have a problem.
Although I did take part in some "blow the carbon out" last time I had my Challenger out
Nope. Up until what they said yesterday if you go w the flow 85 is about normal unless there is congestion. I was in a Company truck so I don’t run it as fast as that. That’s why I was in the middle. Nobody taught these idiots you don’t pass on the right.

Now that the freeways are empty it’s idiots doing over 100. There have been really bad wrecks every day of this in the traffic reports. Glad I don’t drive in the city so much...

I had to deliver some groceries to my mom yesterday. I went in the afternoon rush hour. 20 km over the whole way, instead of 50 under. It was like driving on a Sunday morning.
