Cross Ram intake

The long ram intakes are the same between the low and high block engines. They are two separate manifolds. The difference was in the cast exhaust tubes that coupled the exhaust manifolds to the bottom of the intakes. The linkages were adjustable to compensate for the different width. The center balance tube just slid a little further into the hose couplings on the low deck.

One more tidbit often overlooked or not known to the prospective buyer/installer is make sure you get the heat passage block off plate with the longrams. These parts are 99% of the time MIA when I see them on ebay etc. They are now reproduced. I think there is a firm out west that's repopping the bell crank and linkages also. There's a fair number of these intakes floating around but very few that are complete. The exhaust is another story.

Nice car Bob. You even have the one year only correct alternator!
Hey, thanks for the nice compliment on the G. You have a good eye on that alternator! I try to keep my cars authentic in every regard and with these older C bodies that can be hard to do...thanks again for your comments!

Love these intakes! Been on the prowl for a cheaper one, they are around 1500-2500 depending, but damn they look cool!
You wanna spend a Lotta money to just look cool.
If it's part of a $50k + reconditioning?.... Fine.
Otherwise :realcrazy:

I bought my 1st set for $500.00 with balance tube, block off plates, complete linkages and carbs (cores). I paid $400 for a second set.
Those Ebay guys are IMHO are crazy for what they want and have. I do believe they're trying to hook the restoration guys, but c'mon!!

That's what I'm waiting for, a set in that range

I Know the exhaust manifolds are pretty unique, but this will fit in a motor with standard exhaust manifolds correct?

A couple years ago I captured these pictures from the web. If I remember correctly, the 1st picture was from either a Cordoba or Magnum that was for sale at a very reasonable price, something like $3,500.

I remember the Cordoba. It was for sale in Kansas if I recall. Thought it looked pretty sanitary, questioned the missing wiper motor though, but could never get any details.

These long rams do work really good and add lots of torque.

So you don’t have to be a hood up Guy to know they are on the engine. They are Fun.

The 383 in our Newport runs great! I installed a cam close to the specs of a ram induction fitted 383. It runs stock manifolds and dual exhaust. The carbs are Edelbrocks with electric choke. It's just fun to drive. Then the reaction when the hood is up is as much fun!
