My 70 Sport coming along!

I remember putting shag carpet in a 56 Mercury I had. It wasn't that 'wild' in color, however. Bur a word of warning. I ended up taking it out because I found it held moisture (think just plain solid water) much more than auto carpet and I started worrying it was going to rust out my floor pan.

Very true! I always undercoat my floors before I put shag in to help with that. Always make sure door seals are good.

More progress...

love the carpet. reminds me of my parents living room, only theirs was orange/brown.

I first thought you were removing the old shag carpet, then noticed there were no indentations from the front seats and saw trimmings on the ground....Not my cup of tea but I dig it none the less!!

Just can't get out of this thing! It's cleaned up really nice. I've been driving it every day to work, 70 miles round trip and love every minute of it!

Groovy - I'm digging it, esp. the shaggy rug! Any pics under the hood? I used to cruise around in a sinister black on black 71' Plymouth Sport Fury with a transplanted 440 out of a junked Chrysler NY'r (the 383 threw a rod one day).

I recall some young buck(me) shagging my 73 F100's truck floor in red & black.

Was great until is was holding gallons of water & other liquids that turned nasty after spilling some beverages then out it went back to the vinyl/rubber flooring from the factory.

Plus, having to keep it combed was a bugger... LOL!:p
