K-Car windshields now available

K car windshield... Who the fux cares...
How about a 500 / Daytona rear window...

Even more rare, now . . . when's the last time you saw a Chevy Citation X-11 anywhere?

Probably lots of Dodge K-cars in Mexico? Saw a cops/robbers Mexican show once, where the cops were driving white Dodge K-cars (with apparently 14x7 black steel wheels!) out on the dirt roads in pursuit of the bad guy. Must have been 20 of them. Looked pretty good with the wide wheels/tires on them.

Those X-11's were pretty fun back in the 90's for a young guy with not much $$. One neat feature was the functional fiberglass cowl inducted hood. Here's some old shots of the cleanest example I owned, the other two were beaters. One was burnt orange and the other burgundy.

If my memory is correct those cars had the “new” sideways engine and front wheel drive.
A friend had a Citation and I did tune ups in my garage. While doing a tune up on his, I changed the front spark plugs and then followed the rear spark plug wires as they disappeared down the firewall. After a good amount of time trying to fit my hand down to the spark plugs and then jacking the Citation up to look up from underneath I gave up. Dropping the engine was the only way, I believe. I did own an ex-police K-car, that 4 door was one of the best cars I ever owned.

When we got our first X-11 in, it was an interesting variation on a fwd, low-horsepower, performance car of the time. Had the then-new "trick" Holley staged 2bbl carb, plus wheel/tire and chassis calibration upgrades. Neat in that the tire size on them was close to some of the performance tires for imports, so an easy entry into the autocross world, if desired. As neat as it was, not a lot of sales. But probably more sales than the Cosworth Vega, which was neat for its model years, too.

ONE thing about older Chrysler Products . . . I can see more of them around, every so often, which THEN reminds me of the much longer "last time" I saw a similar GM car. For example, I'd see a late '60s Valiant or Dart and then try to remember the last time I saw a similar Chevy Nova in unrestored demeanor. Same with K-cars and some Fords..

Enjoy!

But, back to K Cars

@Big_John that film is a cool historical look at American entertainment and the mechanical “home run” of the Chrysler Corporation. Most everyone here knows that success story.
Here a photo of mine, purchased at a municipal seal bid auction, darn thing started in the polar vortex, it’s a/c combatted global warming every summer and never ever left me stranded. The K-car, while parked, and more specifically the back window fell victim to a full beer bottle, tossed from a speeding car, that shattered the rear glass. That done as friends and I conversed on a front porch. Somehow something went haywire. Good thing there were replacement rear windows.

I would like to get a first gen 2 door k car. Does not need to run. No rot box, I need good steel to weld the chasis to. I will not need the windshield.
