New revelation...new appreciation...

I love my car. After lots of work the engine is finally acting like a 383 again. It shifts when it should and kicks down...which it has never done since I bought it. Been fighting spark knock and timing issues...carb issues...linkages...previous owner mistakes...a totally sludged engine..basically everything.

Yesterday was the first time it made my head snap back when I floored it and it roared to life barreling down the road at almost 100 in no time...(35mph country road)...still lots to go but it reminded me why I love old mopars.

I'm sure those new gears help with the seat of pants feel. I noticed a huge difference myself switching from 2.76, to 3.23.

And that is pretty well what this hobby is about. Taking something old and making it good again.

The 3:23 gear is the magic number for a Mopar. I think it is the best all around ratio.

Sounds like fun Swish! I also had a number of issues with linkage, trans, etc. but like yours, my old boat is running well. I had more electrical problems, but these guys here on the forum really helped me solve those.
