Was having a great day wrenching on my Fury... until the neighbor...

I've never done the job myself. Seems like you could cut most of the stud off with an angle grinder, drill the center out as large as you can, 7/16"?. Then perhaps chisel the swedge off?

Don't people know that when you have the car out, the hood open... tools everywhere... the music cranking... and you're covered in grease.... YOU DON'T WANT TO TALK TO ANYONE!!!

I've found the best way to get rid of neighbors like that is to put them to work... Ever hear of "Gone in Sixty Seconds"

I feel your pain! I've got a neighbor who is great guy but can also be a PIA. His thing is to come over, ask what I'm up to and then start talking about everything he's doing in rapid fire, channel changing mode. I just stop, let him do his thing and wait for him to leave. It's usually abt 5 minutes. The worst part is when he brings his little yappy dog.....oh well, patience is a virtue...

There is bear spray for that.

Had to walk-up and talk.. and talk.. and talk.

I was distracted, forgot to reverse the setting on my air wrench and annihilated one of my left-hand threaded lug studs on the front drum.

So... I'm one stud short. What can I do about this? I'd like to keep the LH threads, can't seem to find the specs on the size and the depth of the knurled area either... if these things are even available. Or where I can get one... if they are the right one. I've been reading for a while... but mostly a lot of old threads about the same issues.

How the heck do I get the thing out without wreaking more havoc on the drum... was considering using my neighbor's head for a hammer as there is obviously nothing in his.

Anyway... I did manage to replace the tie rods and give her a good run before I put her to bed.

Thanks in advance...
JR
I have one.
Need address and I will send it to you.
Then send a check for shipping!

Remind him of a stay at home order and how you would hate to call the police on him.
Yes-I'm just kidding...

Sounds good.

Thanks!
This what I have.

Done and dusted!

Thanks to the old school guys at Mars Auto in Bayshore, Long Island. Took the drum in to them, he looked at it and laughed. "Forgot to switch the direction, eh?" Lol.

Properly drilled it, removed it, fitted it with the correct size and thread direction stud and even swaged it as well.

Thanks for all the help and fun conversation on this one. Learned a very valuable lesson...and didn't have to go through Hell to get it fixed. Lol!
