What did you do to your C-body today....

Driving home from work Friday I took a different street.... What did I spot at the curb? So I stopped and knocked on the door to make sure it was truly out for garbage as I'm no thief. "we're moving and my wife said if I threw out that old Rusty one she'd buy me a pair of new side cabinets"

Turns out it matches my old box I have at home, so bonus.

Saturday I had a fella come and grab the back half of the 88 5th Ave as I didn't need it and didn't have the heart to scrap rust free sheetmetal, so I gave it to him to keep the karma going from my free donor shell.

Dad asked me to help empty the shed and one thing lead to another and next thing I knew we had it on the other side of the property.

I think we did okay moving a 10x12 steel shed by ourselfs as a 25 year old and a 70 year old

Finally after working at home for two months I got a mouse pad. Also today is the first day that they invited people to start coming back to the office if they are comfortable.
Not bad for $12

Ordered Leaf springs, complete bushing set with U bolts and isolators for my 77 NYB. 10 to 12 day delivery. :)

Hopefully today my gas tank is being replaced in Ontario by a good friend while I sit on my butt here in Nova Scotia.
After this, it getting ready to be shipped to me.

Tank is done and Trixie had her first go around the block without me behind the wheel :(
But now it’s ready for shipping my way!

After screwing around with the trans last week, I had to do a little follow up.

The neutral safety switch was showing some issues and I wanted to replace it and the lower bushing on the console shifter shaft had some serious wear.

The spring was shot in the old...

All was good, I checked for continuity in park and neutral, but the reverse lights weren't right in the new one. All looked good with the pan off... but the switch needs just a little more travel to work right. This was a Standard brand switch, but none of this stuff is all that great anymore. I buttoned it up for now... at least it starts reliably in park now.

Got it all back together and crap.... One pan bolt was not quite right when I took it out... and sure enough, I cross threaded it when it went back in. Got a Helicoil kit coming next week from Amazon... but at least it's tight for now. I should be able to do this without dropping the pan... done it a couple times before with other cars, so it won't be a big deal.

We took the ‘66 vert out for a nice long country drive. Beautiful weather. Coming over the hill a mail truck was stopped on the right. Had to stop fairly quick when we got nailed from behind. Showered in plastic from The exploding rice burner who clipped our left rear quarter bumper. He took off ...can’t imagine he got too far ...missing his bumper, fender, and much assorted fuselage left behind in the street. Feared the worst but upon inspection, it didn’t even move the bumper on the Chrysler! Dented the left rear tail light bezel slightly and cracked the lens a bit. No one could believe how little damage there was to our car. Needless to say, I’m now looking for a left tail light lens.

Went and got Hawaiian food for dinner. 80° and breezy perfect weather for cruising around. This is the mask I use when it says mask must be worn inside. They asked for it, so they get Scorpio’s (from Dirty Harry) retarded cousin...

Got some new tread on the Monaco today. The whitewalls were comfortable, but over 20 years old, so they had to go. Put on some slightly more eye catching tires with meatier tread. Ride is just a titch stiffer now, but she looks way better. I also replaced the washer fluid motor, found the original reservoir was cracked so I had to patch it. Now on to fixing that pesky exhaust manifold leak.....

Tuesday, I cleaned my carb of the deposits I didn't completely clean last year. And I adjusted the floats. Runs better after cleaning a plugged squirter, but needs plugs now, might also have a lifter with a stuck plunger.
