Looking past the artwork, it keeps another low-production CHRYSLER convertible alive.

As for "the canvas", obviously, a flat canvas was needed. '67 Buicks had more curves and a shorter deck lid. Cadillacs had the length, but too many body lines and chrome in the way. Mercuries, too many body lines and curves. The Chrysler won by default AND the fact it was still around/available/durable.

Nothing some paint remover and a repro interior can't fix. Plus a set of Magnum 500 wheels and some quality narrow-stripe white walls.

Enjoy!

A rattle can paint job would be an improvement in this case.

How would you cut thru that Glidden house paint? I agree it looks like it has good bones and if nothing else was preserved by that paint. Tail lights look beautiful. No pitting.
The small block is a detractor for me. I can’t see 14k from this angle.

It needs a close inspection. Taking it down to bare metal to remove that hideous paint could reveal bad body work. The interior, a big block and trans, a lot needs doing to bring her back to respectability. If the small block and trans are in good shape, they could be sold to defray some of the cost, but making things right will take a lot of geetis.

Its sad, but I love the angle this pic, really shows the length and lines of the body.
