On CHiPs last night. My wife took this pic as I was not at home...

The car or the T.V.? Just kidding as my counsel T.V. died last year and finally broke down to purchase flat screen. What era is your T.V. from?

The TV? I’d say it’s about a ‘74.

I agree that it’s not a ‘66 though.

From the image on the screen, I'd say 64-65...

OMG, everybody knows rectangular color didn't come about until the 1964 Motorola 23EGP22 CRT, which is exceptionally rare.

By the varactor tuner, this is obviously a Zenith from the mid 70s, as Matt knew.

Sheesh!

To the best of my knowledge no televisions are made in America anymore. A good counsel T.V. in late '60's and '70's was around $1200.

I'll concur with the mid-'60s, when a 24" color TV as very popular, but that appears to be a "Home Entertainment Unit" with an AM/FM Stereo radio and stereo phonograph in it, with "full-range" speaker sets on each end (behind the grille cloth). Quite an upscale unit for back then!

The '66-era Motorola Home Entertainment Units could also have the first types of "graphic equalizers" in them, with tonal settings for the various material being listened to. "Orchestra", "Easy Listening", or similar . . . but three settings (from their sales brochures) . . . to better fit the sound response to the material being played/desired. Just the thing for that house they shot the '67 Imperial brochure around.

Ahh . . . the memories.

Nice "ready to pounce" panther on the top, too.

Congratulations, gents! You have successfully hijacked this thread in short order!

We didn't have a color TV until I was 12 in 1978. My grandparents had one as long as I could remember, and their second had an original remote "clicker"

Well it’s too hard for me to tell the difference between those 2 years by that picture so...

Do you still have a clicker for it? Or was this pre-click era? I'm still trying to figure out how to prerecord on my VCR
