Help me understand what is wrong here

I'd also suspect the guide pins on the front of the glass, not the pins exactly but the seal that goes with them.

Kind of what I suggested in the beginning... My thoughts on the door pins being an issue didn't enter into the equation until another member quickly added this after my comments of the pins being shot.
*Since they are good and tight, the back to the window hardware itself.
All windows probably need attention if not to correct an issue but to prevent one in the future.

I decided to reopen my own thread because one of the issues appears to be the seals that the slider goes through. I haven't been able to locate a source for these although I may write AMS and see if they have a couple. The FSM is pretty clear on what is needed

Here's a couple photos of the pieces. They are thin pieces of gray plastic(?) and are deteriorating. I have found rubber and flocked rubber inserts for the vent gutters....not sure if these pieces would've gone into them, or they are stand alone.

It looks like you need the new channel guides for the front window.
These kits aren't cheap by any means and if you screw it up when installing it, then you're out more money...so be careful to do it right the first time

Ok, but I haven't found a source. Got any ideas?

The local Chrysler dealer could still get them about 8 years ago. (date on package was 2007) They were used for years. It is worth a shot. I have the new P/N somewhere in a thread that Will had going.

67 Polara 500 convertible
The P/N is about 3 posts after this one. Edit ( I grabbed the picture)

^ They sure don't look like mine. Mine are gray and there's no evidence of flocking.
But I guess it doesn't matter. I looked at those on Dante's and thought that they wouldn't work.

Worth a try though. Might as well do the cat whiskers at the same time.

Thank you @HWYCRZR , @Big_John, and @mr. fix it

Glad to help. the flocking is gone from yours... likely many years ago that it rubbed all off.
I sprayed my replacements with silicon spray to make life easier for rolling up & down.

Mine looked the same way after many years. No flocking, and a dull grey colour to the plastic (what remained). The one difference I can see is that the alignment nubs that go on the glass were black. New ones are white.

. You will find that they may be slightly bigger than the old ones and will be very tight in the channel. I had to file a bit off to get them to operate as they should.

Wait a minute! What year car are we talking about?

There are two channels, a curved one and a straight one. They repop the straight one but the curved one used to be available from Chrysler up to about last year. I think Restoration Specialities/Quiery was looking into repoping them

Edit:
This car should have the straight channel if the side glass is straight.

I should have the same basic car as mr.fix it, except for the dash.
I don't if it is the same as bluefury's '67convertible

Yea, it just hit me that I wasn't sure if your car had straight or curved side windows. I didn't want you buying something that was wrong.

Thank you Big John, but wouldn't be the first. With old cars, sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward.
