Out and about today and saw this in Warrenton Oregon.

That looks like a nice solid car and nice to see it out and about. I would have liked to have seen it before they changed the wheels and took a sander to the paint to try to make it look like it had patina.

A '66 Newport 4-dr hardtop with NY-style C-pillar inserts?

Wondering if it got a poor repaint, which is being prepped for replacement? Hood needs alignment, too.

I can handle the Hurst-type wheels. At least they look period-correct, somewhat. It must live on mostly flat roads, with the seemingly lowered ride height. That rear overhang and rear exhaust pipes can suffer!

Hope it looks better, someday.

The vast majority of the '66 Newports in this part of the world were either normal 4-dr sedans or the 4-dr 6 Window Town Sedans. As the bulk of the New Yorkers were typically 4-dr hardtops, many with the vinyl roof-style inserts on the C-pillars. I do like the look of the 4-dr hardtops, '65 and '66, on any of the trim levels.

Thanks,

I like it. Kind of looks like a Mad Max version of my car... It's only one leather coat with spikes away :D
