My Fury’s stuck in Richmond, VA.

Did you get it straightened out?

Im at an alignment shop right now checking the front end.

I spent most of the night eyeballing to see if any of the leaf springs were cracked, suspension broken etc. I replaced the rear shocks, lowered the rear tires to 60 PSI and front to 50 and reconnected the trailer.

It decreased the dramatic sway from 35+ to about +50 now so I guess that’s something. I think I can keep it straight on backroads and small highways but I’m done for if I get on an interstate

That is not good enough for safety.

I still think the issue is the tires. You were doing fine until the tire failure. Only thing that changed was the tires. No issue with old tires. Issue with new tires. Just sayin...

Hi Greer
@Aidan1976 alerted me to this thread. I agree with Bill and Patrick on too much pressure and bad tires installed. However, If you can't get tires, PM me. I'm in Richmond area and can try to help. Maybe keep the car if you are going to be UA. Semper Fi. Ben

Good news is i decided to try and go back home in NC. I was able to safely control the sway enough to make it about 150 miles south of Richmond.

The bad news is I’ve got 100 miles left and I lost almost all my engine power to pull the trailer and there’s a loud click coming from the #2 Cylinder...

I don’t have a shallow enough socket to pull the low profile bolts on the valve cover to see but I’m thinking chinesium lifter... I was planning for on selling this truck soon to get a Diesel W350 so I went cheap on the recent rebuild... This is what I get... The luck I’m having this trip

I am sorry that you are having so much trouble.

We are all rooting for you!

Just made it home. A very close buddy of mine in my unit made the 2 hour trip and grabbed me and the Fury with his Duramax.

We limped the Dodge to a Walmart parking lot and we will be returning for it with a trailer tomorrow afternoon.

Work starts in 5 hours at 0445 tomorrow so you can definitely say we cut it pretty close

Glad you made it home.
Rest up and re-attack.

Sempre Adelante!

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Your car must know that people are leaving Connecticut in droves, not going back to it. So glad I moved to NC from CT.

Congrats on making it back on base!!!
I remember 1 time arriving just before reveille. My buddy woke up from being passed out in the passenger seat. He stared at me blankly, "We got back in time?" It was a vicious Monday. You'll sleep like a dead man tonight.
Another time, I didn't make it, but I had food poisoning and a doctor called the OD at regimental headquarters. Saved me from going UA.
