Washer Reservoir

I had some requests for photos. You can see that the engine bay just needs some elbow grease and paint. You can see the broken washer reservoir and the reason I want to paint the air cleaner. There are still many things to do but it does make a good show even in its incomplete state. Seat covers from Legendary. New door panels coming from SMS.

Beautiful car. Is that torch red

The 69 bottle is unique and 1 year only. 70-73 bottle tooling is being built right now. Not having employees in the shop for the last 2 months has not helped progress. Be patient they will be here soon.Dave

Hose! (sorry, had to) Note I think someone might have swapped out your air cleaner, '70 440/350 were the dual snorkel type. see www.nicksgarage.com/aircleaner.htm

Dave
I did not know that. It came with the car when I got it. I want it to be stock so I guess I'll be looking for the dual snorkel. Since it is not a TNT then the snorkels are shorter? It seems like I'm always on the hunt for something. I guess that's the way it is. Thanks for your clarification on the air cleaner.

I think for '70 440, both engines used the same air cleaner, TNT units got the pie plate that said TNT.

The air cleaner is correct. ’70 regular 350hp engine, which this car seems to be equipped with (blue engine with log manifolds) came with single snorkel.

Beautiful car!

Factory original 70 350hp air cleaner....

I checked the parts book, you are correct. There is a different part number for the Chryslers with the 440/350. Dual snorkel on 440 TNT.

“She’s a beaut Clarke”

There is at least one exception to the use of a single snorkel air cleaner on C bodies equipped with 440 standard engines besides certain years of T&Cs, and that is the Dodge models. Dodges with standard 440 engines all got the dual snorkel air cleaners largely because most 440 equipped Dodges went to police use, and for plant simplification, all 440s on full size Dodges got the dual snorkels. I can't say exactly which years this was the practice since I haven't had enough cars with this setup over a lot of years but I believe it was the practice for at least 1970-1973.

I am not sure if the same practice was used for Plymouth models or not but such models as the 1970 Sport Fury GTs with the 440 standard engines being the only ones available besides the 6 bbls, did get the dual snorkels standard too.

Plymouth police cruisers with T-Code 440 also got dual snorkels. If memory serves me correctly, that was part of the police option package.

I was gonna go into that but the prior poster was Chrysler specific in his verbiage.
Any 70 & 71 dodge 440 I had came with the D. S.
