O gauge Trains

Some track and switches to go through in box 3 and 4. Not a bad little haul for the price though!

Milk car, operating box car, 6560 crane car, Lehigh valley gondola, spotlight car, V & KW transformers, nice score! Some of those accs. look pre-war.
Hope those transformers are good, the cords look great and not dried out. I have 2 Z's, they are great!
Do you have these 2 informative Train sites? Enjoy!

It’s possible. I thought a couple of the cars looked more pre war to me, but haven’t looked into em yet. Still haven’t tried the KW yet. I may try and sell it seeing as I already have one currently in operation. The type V I don’t have, and would be a keeper for the collection.

I like the Timken 6464 Boxcar!! That’s a keeper!! Seems to be worth almost half the cost of the lot lol.

I got the 671 serviced up a little and running. Got it running with my 2055’s tender. Need to go through the whistle tenders I got today. None of em working.

Got the Milk car working too! Works good! Cleaned up a couple wires, and cleaned the sticky old lube off. Also got the 2351 running. This poor thing is pretty rough. Not sure if it will be parts or a restoration....

Been a good weekend of train fun! Back to normal tomorrow... Boo! LOL

Got some of the accessories serviced, working, and installed. The plasticville buildings won’t be staying, or the little round track at the end, but for now WTH.

Got the gateman working, but his damn arms keep flying off! Need to tear it apart and fix it properly.

We went for a little get away this weekend to Daytona. Took the new truck out for its first trip away. Nice and comfy! Weekend was pretty S#itty due to the weather, but still had a decent time.

Of coarse we had to hit the train shop! I did some horse trading with a few items. My New Haven FA needed a speaker replacement, and happened to bring another goodie home.

wasn’t planning on bringing one home, but was too good to pass up on. A MTH premier Virginian FM trainmaster with Proto2. When it’s not on she could almost pass for a postwar piece. Once on though, the smoke and LED’s give it away lol.

Looks good sitting next to it’s original postwar brother!

Been a busy train month! My wallet has not been to happy with me.....

Some of you may have heard, MTH announced they are shutting down the business next year. Pretty sad news. They did have a good run! 40 years in the business. Hopefully somebody picks them up.

Hearing the news, I decided I needed to pre order my one and only train from them. 90% of my modern stuff is MTH, but I’ve never pre ordered myself anything. Figured I better do it while I can. It’s another F3 (surprise! LOL) but it’s a Jersey Central Lines sry. Don’t ever see em in that road name pretty cool. From what I’ve heard everything in the last catalog will be built to order. Glad I ordered it.

I also made quite a big purchase at the local store in Daytona. I’m sure stuff will be around for quite a while, but again wanted to grab it while it was still in front of me. I’ve been drooling over these military cars for quite some time. Had to grab em!

Started on the next layout addition today. The upper level of the 2nd layout. Eventually I’ll close the sides in to make a tunnel/mountain side. Not sure what radius track I want to go with. Been thinking hard on a 072 loop up top for some big scaled articulate engines, but I would have to expand on the edges of the layout to accommodate the wide 6’ turns. Or just stay with 042, and stay within the 4K’ boards.

We’ll see.....

Looks great Zac! Very sad news about MTH... to me their technology was second to none. I love mine.

What did you order? Any pics?

Absolutely! Like everyone else, I was quite shocked at the announcement. Same here for me, their stuff is the best currently. I do wish the sounds could get on the same level as modern Lionels, but I’ll take a little hit in the sound department for the bulletproof dependability they offer.

Every one of my modern/newer Lionel’s is currently down or has an issue. The MTH’s just keep going. Sure I’ll have a little issue here and there. And it is usually $60 to have it fixed at my local dealer. But anytime a Lionel one goes out it’s atleast $150....

I was a little nervous as the only real dealer left in Daytona is really an MTH only dealer. Talking with him, he does not seem to worried about it. Says he will prolly specialize in nice pre owned PS2 and 3 models for now.

Here’s a couple screen shots. It’s the green Jersey central on the top. Got a powered A, Dummy B, and a Dummy A coming. Catalog says they will ship out the 4th quarter (Oct.-Dec.) Fingers crosses they do with all the BS going on this year.....

Also ordered a Rocket flat car for the military train. That should be in in a week or 2..

I got a cheap little Tripod for the phone, and downloaded a video editing program. Was having a lil fun with it the other day. Don’t worry, I won’t quit my day job!! Lmao

Sucks we couldn’t make it this year. Sabrina was a bit upset as well. Maybe next year.....

I need a car to take though. We did it the other year without a car, and wasn’t as much fun. I love the new truck, but it don’t count lol. Newport needs a ton of work as well. And the dually ain’t making the trip with 4.10s. Might need to find something to have some fun in this year.....

I never cared for MTH or Mike, the little weasel! Took advantage of Lionel to line his own pockets!

The American way!

Love em of hate em, it’s gonna suck if nobody picks up the torch. This pretty much leaves Lionel the only game in town in the “mainstream”. I love Lionel, but I can’t swing $1600 engines that need repairs every other month.

I adore my Postwar stuff, but also like playing with the modern bells and whistles.

Looks great Zac, I love the Army theme! Sucks to hear about MTH.

Thanks!! I need to find the Jeep flat car to finish it off. He ended up selling em all before I got to him. I bought out the rest of the cars he had.

Flippin' thru some YouTube stuff and ran across this.

So this is what Zac @monaco75 has been up to! Congratulations!
Very cool, nice job!

Thanks!!

Haven’t been on here much lately. Trains have kept me occupied lol. Been busy building the YouTube channel up. I’m pretty surprised and happy with it! Been going on 6 months now, and knocking on the door of 2k subscribers. I just went through the YouTube review/approval process and the channel got monetized yesterday. Pretty cool! I don’t advertise or anything anywhere, just let the channel and videos do the work. Seems to be working!

Being a niche hobby, I’m sure it will never be “huge” but am still surprised how well it’s been doing. One of the videos made it over to the O gauge forum, and that brought quite a bit of foot traffic through the door the past day or so.

Hope all is well!!

Nice work! Being of a certain age, I’m always mystified at how “you tubers” make money, lol.

So, Allen finally let you into the O Gauge forum? I thought he was trying to keep the riff-raff out, lol. One of my threads got pulled because someone tried to start a convo about the Chrysler 300 in the background of some of my posted train pics. That was about a year ago and I haven’t really been back since.

Keep up the good work!

When I started out I really wasn’t looking to make money, and still am not. However I won’t turn it down if I can..... LOL This has turned into another side hobby of “the hobby” if that makes sense.

There are a couple stipulations you have to meet in order to start making $$ on there (I’m still learning about it myself). The 2 big ones are 1k subscribers, and 4000 hours of watch time on your channel. Once you meet these goals you gain the opportunity to “ask” to join the YouTube program/community. You have to set up a Google Adsense account that needs to be verified, and your channel goes through a revue process. If approved, you are able to allow YouTube to monetize your channel. You receive a kick back from the advertisements that are shown on your videos.

With that said though, from what I gather you really don’t make much. Fractions of pennies per add or something silly like that. The way to really make money is sell merchandise from your channel, as well as patreon. If people like your channel enough and become a patron of your patreon, they basically pay you like a subscription. To make it worth while to them, you make “special videos” and offer “special” things to them that the general public doesn’t get.

Like I say, I don’t think I’ll be retiring anytime soon, however if I can make a few bucks to put back into the channel, I think that would be neat. Use the money to get a better camera, microphone or whatever have you. Of coarse products to review as well.... LOL

Hope that answers to some extent.....

I did get approval for the forum, however after 2-3 days I was out. That’s what made me get the YouTube channel going. That place was a drag.....

Can’t believe they pulled your thread over the 300!!! What a joke!!!!

Not to highjack Zac's thread, I thought I would post some pictures of what I put up in our company training room for Christmas.
