Finished coating the floors with chassis saver. Added siless sound deadening...carpet padding...and new carpet...and replaced the torn up 68 seats with much better 67 seats. My hands are killing me but I love how it looks. Can't wait to redo the upholstery for all of it.

Looks great. I like the '67 seats, they look much more upscale with all the stainless trim around the back and bottom of the seats than the plastic trim that were in the '68s.

At least your carpet goes all the way up the firewall..

[QUOTE="swisherred, I had to put a remnant strip in to cover the 3" gap because the rear was cut crooked from acc.

Typical of acc. I liked trim parts out of South Carolina but acc bought them. Now there are two crappy carpet suppliers.

the car is sooo much quieter now...cant wait to get the rear seat installed and finish the headliner and trunk pan....

Well done, looks like it just left the assembly plant.
Or, to be more accurate, better than any assembly plant could do.
I don't think it'd ever leave the factory with the right rear panel missing under the window. Just sayin!
Looks good!

thank you. still working on it...eventually the power windows will go in and the interior panels and all upholstery will be redone. headliner will be going in as soon as I know the insulation adhesive wont let loose on me in the hot sun. It will all be coming back out at some point anyway..except the headliner...for the paint and window work.

Please give us a feedback how much that insulation changes the temperature uprising inside the car when driving.
I have 0 insulation and it gets really hot in my car. Question to me is wether it's sufficient to cover the floor and a part of the firewall or if that remaining part of uncovered firewall still lets major heat coming through.
Thanks

Ok...I drove the car for about 20 miles the other day and all I can say is WOW...its insane how much quieter it is. I didnt have the back seat bottom in and my trunk is full of holes and i have cherrybomb exhaust...so it should have been loud. I dont have a way of testing dB but I can say it was quieter driving with the windows open than my 2016 hyundai is with them closed. When it was bare metal floors I couldnt touch the floor and hold my hand there over the exhaust, now I can barely tell its warmer than the rest of the floor. Rising temps are lower but I suspect that given enough time they could still reach high temps sitting in the sun. There is a huge difference in roof radiant heat though. I couldnt touch my roof as it was hitting around 150º, now its closer to 100º sitting in the sun. Its a black and dark blue roof too.
I used 80mil Siless sound dampening butyl sheets ($50 for 36 sqft-amazon, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BLSP8JV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ), 1/2" generic carpet underlayment padding (had it for years) and the ACC carpet with mass backing. The roof used a 1/2" generic shredded cotton blend on aluminum foil backing. The kind of thing they sell at car shows and swap meets for $20. I am super impressed with how quiet and smooth the car feels now even with glass pack exhaust.

Cool, have to think about it. I don't mind the noise level in my car but the lack of insulation and A/C is giving me a hard time driving in summerheat
