Parting out a 1972 Plymouth Fury ex-Oregon State Patrol cop car. Just picked this up from a wrecking yard that is crushing out. It is SUPER rusty - like the rear bumper fell off while loading it rusty. Need a few of the cop pieces for my projects (leece neville set up for example) but everything else is game. Let me know what you want, this isn't going to be around my place long.

Looks like it was parked around salt spray from the ocean.

I sure that somebody will pipe up and say they want to restore it.

Yard is on the side of a mountain facing the coast, about 50 miles inland. The pine needs are what really got it. They are slightly acidic. What causes rust here in washington is pine needles getting under trim, then rotting out the windows, then trunk/floor pans get rusty, then quarters. Frame rails are fine on the car.

When your done parting it haul it down to GYC and dump it with a note on it for Marc to give you a estimate! Looks about the same shape as that Charger that he pulled out of the moss pit.

I see a fender tag. Could you post a photo here for historical records? :thankyou:

Edit: thank you for saving the tag of PK41U1D314127 (and its K VON)

Sure. I will save the tag off the car. Somebody took the special order tag off it already.

Two questions, is that CB radio in it police issue? If so is it available? Any other specialty parts like that for a police cruiser? I am asking since I have a Virginia police highway patrol car here that needs such parts. Secondly, that overflow bottle on the radiator? Do you know if that was police issue as well? Might be Washington state specific?

That is an Oregon spec'd cruiser. The radio mast laying across the rear deck is police issue for OSP with Motorola radios and would have been mounted on the rear shelf on the driver's side. OSP cruisers of that era were bare bones with no A/C but did have the E86 engines, tan interiors with HD rubber floor mats. They did not even have an AM radio. The CB radios installed were an off the shelf item and were not police specific. Rumor at the time was that CB radios were installed to monitor heavy truck chatter about speed traps. Truckers knew this and devised a lot of clever code words to alert each other. Truckers would also use the CB to report traffic accidents on the police monitored channels.

At least some of the cop stuff can be used on another project.
For example the extra roof reinforcement. Everything else around it is rotted,LOL!
The torsion bars may bee reusable but the rear springs could be toast.
Gauge cluster, cop rims, alternator core--just to mention a few items worth parting

Hi I was wondering if you might have any of the following pieces of the car you are parting?
.factory clutch fan (sealed type)
.the two heater hoses if not brittle and original.
.the factory saddle type exhaust clamps.
.the hd factory shocks???
.trans or trunk grounding straps?
.under hood siren wiring???
thanks let me know
