Hi all- new to this forum, bought a 67 Polara on Sunday and have been playing with it trying to get it running right after it sat in storage for 17 years. It is in very good unmolested original condition, original red paint and white leather int. The only rust I can find is on the bottom of the pass side quarter behind the tire. I have seen pictures of cars like mine that have chrome trim on the rocker panels and on this part if the quarters, does anybody know where I could buy these trim parts? I will upload more photos soon and also I will no doubt be coming up with more questions!

Not all of the '67 Polara line had the wheel well and rocker trim. The standard Polara might not have the additional trim but it was usually standard on the Polara 500. If you are trying to keep the car factory stock, you probably do not want to add any trim it did not come with. If you trim is missing, it is not reproduced so you would need to locate a donor car with good trim. You might also want to check with Murray Park, a vendor on this site as he has a lot of Mopar trim parts.

A pic of your fender tag would be great. Your fender tag may tell if it had the chrome (anodized aluminum)accents originally, Or if you find a build sheet (broadcast sheet) under your rear seat.
Those are some of the hardest pieces to find. If they do come up be willing to pay for them.
I looked off and on for 10 years for the lower trim on the rocker panel for mine. I passed up a pair for $800 plus shipping 2 years ago and haven’t seen any since.
I ended up reviving my old ones.

Welcome aboard from :canada:. Your new acquisition is a beauty. As mentioned above I think the standard Polara only came with the upper molding. I'm not 100% sure so you'd need to check with someone that knows the 67s well. Be sure to keep us posted on your progress.

welcome... nice ride! I have a 67 monaco hardtop. My parts car has most of the trim you need, but its in poor shape.

:welcome:
Beautiful !!!!! The trim you mention is Polara and Monaco 500 trim. Front fender louvers and bucket seats are also part of the 500 package. The seats are vinal, not leather. Likely has a 383 2 bbl ?
It will be very difficult and expensive to find all the 500 trim. Plus, it may be just a little to much with the chrome spear on the side of your car. I wouldn't worry about it.
My car came out of a 45 year storage near Portland Oregon. It was not as nice as yours but is coming around nicely. It has zero rust and still original paint.

Keep us posted with progress reports. Your gonna love that car and the attention it draws.

Will.

I have been looking all over for this type of lower body trim also. I found this one and the front fender trim as well, but no more. I am looking to have the rest fabricated new based upon the trim I have obtained. Is this the same type you are looking for or is it the wider, lower trim you want? Beautiful car!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody! I plugged up two new fuel filters quickly trying to see if the motor was OK so pulled the fuel tank out today and steam cleaned it at my buddys place and wow surprised it ran at all! Going to replace all the fuel lines pump, another filter and go ahead with doing all fluids belts hoses etc while it is up on the jack stands. Anybody dealt with the tank sender unit?

Answering my own question found the whole sender/pickup unit on rock auto for 55 bucks along with a lot of other little stuff I need- well I guess the internet does have some advantages- cant drink 4 beers while shopping at Oreilleys plus they would not have what I needed anyways!

Try and reuse the old unit if possible. The new ones don't read right, it reads 3/4 at full and you still have 1/4 of a tank left at empty.

They often need to be adjusted as mentioned, but if your tank is out, you can look through the filler neck as you adjust it. @HWYCRZR has a thread that may have the correct sending unit that doesn't need adjusting.

No matter what you use, make sure to reuse the old lock ring, the new ones will leak, it's not fun.

It was possible to order a rocker molding on a spear equipped (non 500) car. In that case it was just a rocker molding, and did not contain wheel well moldings. It is on page 2 of the option sheet. It might show up on the fender tag as j4, but I am not 100% sure because a few of the option codes have not been mapped. It is on the second page of the option sheet under 544. Note the part on the end of that says Polara 318, Polara (the two models it was available to be ordered on). This means the rocker sill molding could not be ordered with the Polara 500 package, simply because the Polara 500 came with its own rocker molding that was integral with wheel well moldings. Nor could it be ordered with a Monaco.

Pictured are the option list sheets and my 383 Polara Sedan. It has the spear, rocker molding, and no wheel well molding. Option codes on the fender tag are j4 (body sill narrow), m3, and w8. Not sure what m3 and w8 are because they did not show up in the decode. Since the car is also equipped with 543 Moldings door upper frame, I would suppose one of those is the upper door moldings.

Here is a 2 door hardtop (not mine), posted on the internet years ago. It has the 544 rocker molding with the standard Polara spear, and no wheelwell moldings.
