So this buddy of mine who lives in Canada was on the Covid 19 lock down. Actually think he still is. Over two months for him. Anyway he & I where messaging back & forth & I showed him my new T shirt design I had made. It’s pretty simple & he didn’t like it. He said man I went graphic art school & I have a computer loaded with all the cool software (he continues to amaze me with all the stuff he’s into) let me design you one. So after shooting back & forth some ideas this is the final product. I like it & i think I’m going to get Custom Ink to make a few. Not looking to sell just have some to wear at the races & give a few to my sponsor/friends/family. What do you guys think ?

I like the first one better.:thumbsup:

LOVE IT!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

OK, that looks great. But for some reason, the first and second ones look identical to me. What am I missing?
Your friend does great work. Does he work on commission? If so, I have some work for him.
jus sayin...

The grey background more like a tach would have & the needle at 7200.

I think it’s just a hobby for him

I like them both - hard for me to choose. OK, I stepped away for a few minutes, and I think the first one is the best for colours.

Please don't take my next question as a criticism - this is a fun hobby to be enjoyed as each of us sees fit. My question therefore is asked with the utmost respect to your freedom to choose - is there a specific reason for your choice of spelling the name Furyious? By the dictionary, it would be spelled Furious, but of course that just doesn't make it since there's no Fury as the Y is removed.

Does someone else have rights to the spelling of Furyous (no letter I)? Spelling it as Furyious just seems to catch my eye. Just curious!

Yes there is a specific reason. It’s a play on the name Fury. Had to have the Y. Drag racing is rich with history of cars being named. And many with intentionally creative spelling. From sportsman cars like Nova-Cain to legendary pro cars like Swamp Rat. The Nightmare Mustang is another. Even today you see guys get cute with the spelling of the cars names. X-tream is a spelling I see often. Radical Rodz etc. If I spell it Furious then that’s the correct way to spell the word to represent anger. Nothing to do with an automobile named a Fury. Most people wouldn’t get the connection to the name, but by intentionally inserting the Y it becomes obvious the name represents what kind of car it is. You will see Furious on any car simply meaning that car is angry & beware, but you won’t see FURYIOUS on a Mustang. With that spelling it can only be used on a Plymouth Fury. Remember the Blew By you altered/funny car of the 60’s & 70’s. How about a Chevy powered Kia named Nokia.....get it. Ive seen a Ford named Furious Ford. Angry Ford is all that means. Put a Y in there & it leads one to believe is a Plymouth powered Ford.

Oh oh. Is this another Canadian language thing?
:canada::poke:

I am no linguist by any means. I would pronounce ous without the i as “owse”.

Now technically the Y could replace the i but for me it doesn’t read right as we are probably limited on examples of words that use i instead of y in this context. Furyous, looks like “Fury owse“
to me. Damn the English language.

:canada: :lol:

For me (and really, who cares what I think?) my brain wants to replace the I with Y and see it spelled as FURYOUS, because just like you hear "owse" when spelled as I just did, with the Y followed by the I, I hear it as "Fury-e-us". I can definitely see how others see/hear it differently however.

I find language (especially Etymology - word history) quite interesting!!

Well again it’s just a play on the name Fury joined with the word furious. Not a literary grammar experiment. Just the opposite actually. It’s intentionally spelled wrong. Don’t think that hard into it Ross. Have fun let it amuse you not challenge you to seek correctness
