1973 Newport Navjo 400cid runs and drive not a show car, needs work. 1) Check with wife, husband, mother, father, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, best friend, neighbor, ect. before waisting each others time,to make sure your allowed to buy it. 2) Make sure you have the cash to do so or lender willing to lend you the money so we are not waisting each others time. 3) The pictures are to give you a rough idea of what the car looks like so do not ask for additional pictures, if you serious you will come out and inspect the car. 4) Best offer over 5000.00 in person will take it, no offers by phone, emails, or text, currently a lien on the car though JJ Best Bank I will pay off the get the lien release in 24-48 hours. Sorry for sounding like a hard ***, but I must of had sold my other classic car a half dozen times for the reasons listed above. Thanks
1973 Chrysler Newport - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle...

I've liked this car from the first it appeared here, but i am not a buyer, have no comment on price, and am not dissin' anyone past or present associated with this car.

but how is such a sale accomplished with a lien in place?

for example, escrow account with a neutral third party (e.g, buyer pay third party, seller gets clear title 1-2 days and deliver it and car to third party, third party give money to seller, third party give title/keys to buyer)?

I have never bought or sold a vehicle under those conditions so not sure what the process would be to accomplish it.

hope it finds a good home

Challenger exhaust tips look out of place. If the seller expects to move this car, he should clear the lien first. Not impressed with his attitude.

I agree, this is no way to sell a car. Interesting that he still has a classic car loan, he must not have had it long. I'm not making excuses but maybe he's lost his job and is angry at the world.

Rerun I think? She’s been for sale for some time now.. or flipped like a pancake..

I've liked this car from the first it appeared here

Indeed -- there was an ad with photos taken with the same camera and at the same time a couple of years ago (see this thread). The seller this time around is telling the readers to not ask for extra pics, which is a red flag IMHO.

Back in 2018, the asking price for this 2dr Navajo was $8.5k and the title was clean. The price is now down to $5k and the title has a lien on it. Another red flag.

Either the original seller has fallen down on his luck, or someone else took a loan to buy the car two years ago and is now in dire straits. Either way, this is a sad situation.

The car looks nice, but the fact that the seller only wants cash buyers in person reminds me of how I bought Medina. That experience was, shall we say, interesting. In my case, at least, the title was clean and the seller agreed to have someone inspect the car (thanks again, @'69FuryIIIConvertible ). This may be the way to go if anyone who is not local is interested in this '73 Newport: find an FCBO member based close to Rotterdam (NW of Albany, NY) and go from there.

I don't see any brain damage with this at all.
Dude does not say he will not answer a direct question. Seems simple enough to me. If your local, have the funds, and are truly interested. Then get off you *** and come down here, like the song says.
Anybody that has bought and sold on these platforms should know the story. Flakeslist.

Bank held vehicles are sold at the bank every day. That should be possible to arrange.

I've invested in many vehicles I did not buy. More than I have bought for sure. The guy I got my 300 from did not post any pictures. He had no digital camera. He had a computer and a car for sale.
My Coronet came from a 3 sentence description in the local paper before I had internet. I put cash in my pocket and went to look at it. I left my shitty car in his driveway and drove the Coronet home and got my car later. And both of my trucks were listed in the Truck Trader with 1.5" black and white photos. Cash in pocket, *** in car, car on the road.

Somethings must be determined in person. Think of the phrase "no rust" thrown around like its nothing at all.
I once drove an hour out of my way to see a no rust vehicle. When I rolled under the car on the wet pavement, then got up and explained that there were several holes I could stick my hand through.
The man was genuinely insulted and offended in my ungentlemanly conduct. He believed it to be rust free as the last man said. A gentleman respects the word of another gentleman. He does not roll around in the filth.
Well, sorry sir. I can't pretend the rust away. I have to cut and weld it away.

I would love to drag down the entire internet with my stories! My wife liked the time that I made a guy open his add and read his description of his 440 for sale while we looked at the unsalvageable heap. You could not make it up.

That car was at Carlisle last year. Parked at my hotel if I recall...dont think it had aftermarket rims though.

The way I read the ad, the car photoed isn't the car for sale . . Strange way to do business

That car was at Carlisle last year. Parked at my hotel if I recall...dont think it had aftermarket rims though.

Which car? The one in the photo (which sold 2 years ago), another Navajo (several members who own one), or the seller's (assuming it is different from the one pictured in the current ad)?

Call me confused

There are some serious red flags in this guy's description.

"Make sure you have the cash ... do not ask for additional pictures ... no offers by phone, emails, or text ... currently a lien on the car ..."

Walk away!!!!
