'75 Monaco Steering box

Is it odd year or just a unicorn..? Don't see Chrysler Corp. making a specific box for one car in the '70's

Parts guys tell me it could be one of 4 boxes depending on bolt patterns, shaft size and if it is rainy the day of removal.

Whats your 2-cents?

i never had an issue getting a new box or questions about different boxes.

There's two boxes early and late.
You can research Mopar steering box on Google and you will get which is what.
Plus....
Manual or power or
Cop box or stock.

I am assuming with my 66 I have an "early" box, but how does one know for sure? Part number/casting number?

Same for identifying a cop or regular P S. box?

Also - is it possible when rebuilding a regular box to bring it up to cop specs?

Tried to do a casting search, not much help. Sector shaft on the cop box might make for interesting hunting.

Found a shop to rebuild but 5-6 weeks out plus shipping. Since I'm on the EFI kick might let it slide.

My confidence in the google search is low. Don't the parts guys have the same search? I got 4 boxes and they were all wrong, all slightly different.

Seen the upgrade to the Borgson with other parts need that I forget. If i got no choice, OK but I really don't wanna.

All mopar cars a/b/e/c bodies used the same box for 2 decades. The only difference was in like 1972/73 they changed the pinion shaft diameter from 1,1/8" to 1,1/4". I have a newly rebuilt 1 1/4 unit on a shelf id be willing to sell cheap just to get it off the shelf. pm me if interested and I can provide pics.
