I'd give it a shot, I've been a carpenter for around 25 years. Mostly like to stay in my shop and do custom furniture and built-ins/cabinetry these days though. I do agree on the architecture, very nice.

When I built my abode down here I told the builder (one of the biggest in this area) I wanted the roof stick built.
He said we HAD to go with trusses. He wouldn't be able to find anyone who would know how to do it.
For pete's sakes, these guys now don't even know what a framing square is...:violent-smiley-100:
It's all assemble by numbers now.
