I am restoring a 67 Plymouth Fury III convertible. I have the engine annd drive train 100% restored and shining :) I have the body repaired, sanded and primed... with one exception. The drivers side 1/4 panel is beyond repair. I have searched high and low with no luck. Can anyone tell me what I do if I come to a point where I simply cannot find the correct body part? what is the proverbial last case scenario?

I see only two options.
1. Keep searching high and low for a rear quarter even if you have to buy the car attached to it.
2. Find a damn good body man. He won't be at a collision shop.

Your ambition and fortitude to do this car right is quite nice to hear. I'm sure all of us wish you luck, and maybe we'll keep our eyes out for the quarter you need. You KNOW it's out there somewhere.

For that matter, can a non-vertible quarter be sectioned in?

If its just the forward part of the skin that needs replacing you could section in the door skin off a four door car.

The outer skin on the rear quarter is the same for a 2 door or a vert if you splice it at the trim line at the door handle. You might also be able to splice the damaged area by cutting the door skin off of a 4 dr.

Start by getting all that mud off. Can’t truelly see what has to be done that quarter. Looks like a lot of shrinking of the metal is needed. Very time consuming process but well worth the effort.

Have you contacted Wildcat Mopars in Oregon? Check with ACME - fmmpar on eBay - he has an expensive right side. You never know. You may be able to use a partial quarter panel. Maybe someone cut off the back off or lower quarter panel but left the forward part.

Too bad you need the left side as there is also an NOS right rear door skin on eBay.

Suggest you also start trying to find a parts car with a good quarter panel.

@a67furyman - do you have anything that could help?

i am in talks now with fmmpar on ebay. i think Jeff is his name. i am to call him in the morning.

There is an auto salvage yard in Maricopa Az that has a 68 fury convertible. Try them.

I just remembered the name for the place in Maricopa,AZ. It’s Hidden Valley Auto.

FYI, a '68 Fury quarter panel is different. it has body lines in the lower quarter panel front area that a '67 doesn't have. There are other differences as well.

Try desert valley in Phoenix. They have several 67 2 door hard tops. They did have a 67 convertible at one point but I don’t recall if the quarter panels were still there.
