'68 Newport heater core

I just finished mine but the heater core was fairly new and a good one. Just had a line get jarred loose so soldered that up and cleaned put the mouse remnants. It was horrible and I hope to not do it again. So every extra hole is getting screen. Up to roof area from trunk, in and out of heater ducts.
I ended up just using foam and foam tape that was in stock but a person could easily spend more than those premade kits if you went to buy the stuff individually.

Awesome work!

Its amazing, I just wanted to replace the heater core, now I'm going to refurbish the heater box.....

Anyone have an idea where I can get the 2 vacuum actuators? I see them on eBay, but the rod length and configuration are all wrong.

Bought a spare heater box to rebuild so we could just swap it out as an assembly. It arrived broken. Sellers is working with me, we'll see. Also, took heater core pics. OEM on the left, APDI center, and Spectra on the right. APDI looks the closest, but it's a tight fit. The Spectra went in easier but I don't think it will seal as good.

I bet that the Spectra works better, in transferring heat. Also, I have used JB Weld to repair broken ‘phenolic’ material that these heater boxes are made of...

The "Heater Box Guy" in PA refurbished this box for me. This is the broken one I had, afraid to say the fiberglass repair broke again, but the box is usable and the broken piece won't show.
