Rear Window Motors...source?

Thanks Kevin, great idea. As I look at 413's photos of the motors and brackets, it occurs to me that the available replacement motors do not appear to have the two attachment points for the bracket. THUS, the motor would be attached at the head where the drive gear is, but the bottom of the motor would not be attached with the brackets in 413's photos. I wonder if this would make any difference.

Also, I have one roller thingy that has come out of it's slot. It appears to be impossible to get it back in the slot with the unit still in the car. I am beginning to think that I might just fix the windows into the up position, and just leave it at that. I have enough things annoying me right now....

I wouldn't be too concerned about that bracket, especially if you are going with the Dorman units as they weigh next to nothing compared to the originals.

I lost count of how many used ones I swapped through my 66. The 70's and newer ones had plastic gears in them and the 40+ year old plastic just turns into petrified dogshit.

I never bothered with the support brackets. I know some of the donor motors had assorted different brackets and honestly I don't remember if my 66 had any. I never had any issues in any case other than the exploding plastic gears.

yes I sure wished there were better window motors out there that didn’t have those lousy plastic gears or lobes as on the fords n Lincolns that disintegrate!! Also some more powerful and faster motors would help too for those ole 60’s n 70’s motors

Anyone out there have any 67/68 Monaco 500’s parts? I really need those outside wide anodized aluminum moldings that go fro t to back and wrap around the wheel wells etc I also need to take the back window out to repair rust and if successful where do I get a new rubber gasket??
