Demonstrating my BendPak QuickJack BL-5000EXT

Yeah, I thought about that. These are the 7,000lb units (car is only 4,400lb) and according to the manufacturer it is ok to run them like this.

I’ll see if I can get it going in parallel here too

Either that, or load up the trunk with all your spare parts:lol:

Contact points aren’t as bang on this way. Also for reference the height when it is up in the short vs tall position.

Do you know the ground clearance of the GTO? My wife's Scat Pack is 4.6" and I'm guessing I would have enough room for the cross member. I can't say for sure but based on the amount of room I have when I slide the quickjack under the car, that would be my guess.

5.5in to the frame rails in the front.

Hey Shooter65 ,just wondering as I am interested in getting one specifically a BL-5000EXT. You also have a 69 Fury like me ,is this unit more than big enough for the Fury or barely big enough. Reason being I own a Dodge Omni glhs and need it for that too and as you know it is quite a bit smaller. Wondering if the BL-5000 SLX would also work on the Fury as it is a bit smaller. Thanks to you and Jason99 for the videos as I'm sure it takes time to do them.

I would like something like that but don't have the height in my garage unfortunately.

Hi Turboomni, I bought the BL-5000EXT because it was small enough for my wife's Avenger but I believe it will be large enough for my Fury. Them most important thing is to position them so the weight is distributed evenly between the front and back. I actually haven't used it on my Fury but my wife's Scat Pack is pretty long and heavy on the front so I'm not concerned about using it on my Fury.

Anybody have experience with this style of mid-height lift? I know someone that has one and he likes it. I like that you can leave it in place and just drive over it, unlike the QuickJack. it also lifts higher.

You can leave the quickjacks on the floor, they're only a couple inches high when collapsed. Push the two jacks together under the center when not using, and slide them out when needed. That Atlas is a good looking jack, as long as the center is still clear for transmission and driveshaft work. Those center connectors probably present a complication if using a rolling transmission jack. I prefer a perfectly clear center.

Also, with the car at that height, what do you do under there? Sit, squat, half stand, on your knees, what? That ground bracketry makes a chair or stool a tough proposition.

This is what I do with the Quickjacks, I just push them together under the middle of the car and leave them there.

I spent a couple extra bucks, and bought the 7000 extended. The Phaeton is 5400#, and I like big cars. This will handle anything within reason.

There's a Youtube video of the factory overloading one with, I think, 16,000 pounds. They had to modify the pump to lift that amount. The frames didn't distort or break. The limiting factor is the supplied pump pressure. Pump will give up long before you can dangerously overload it.

There's also a video of them pushing two new boxed units off the factory roof, which I think was 24' up. Again, no damage. Unboxed and worked as new.

If you buy one, it comes in cardboard boxes. The units are heavy, and shippers don't lift them, they drag them and shove them. By the time it arrives, the boxes will be destroyed. The units will be fine.
