Brake pad fitment issue

Good afternoon,

After about a year of inactivity (went to school), I started working on my Fury again. I've run into a bit of a problem. I am currently piecing together a front disc brake conversion. I am trying to fit my brake pads, and the inner pad fits perfectly, but the outer pad will not fit. The caliper is as close to the caliper bracket as possible. I'm starting to suspect that the discs are not the right size for calipers. Anything I am doing wrong, or anyway I can jury-rig a solution without having to buy new discs or calipers? Thanks.

This is a 1969 Fury disc brake assembly on my 1966 Fury.

I had a similar problem when I converted my Newport; front pads just would not fit!

I took the calipers back to the shop, as well as the original, very rusted ones I had purchased. While arguing with Mike about them not fitting, "Big Chris" Fredricksen walked into the shop; he's a Mopar man who is also a professional mechanic. Has been very helpful to me. He sees the caliper in my hand and says, "Mike, why did you sell Scoot B Body calipers; he has a C Body."

You might have the same issue; be sure....
 
Are these pictures the calipers that you have on the car with the numbers KH80012
on them? If they are they are the wrong calipers. These are for 1970-71 E bodies.
The C bodies are bigger. If you want to sell them I would be interested
 
There also should be a number cast into the caliper mounting brackets can you post that. It could be wrong also.

Yes the are! Apparently autozone lied to me about fitment. If this is the case, I would have no problem selling them. They are brand new, I have only test fit them.

In 1970 on the B & E body line of cars, when the Kelsey Hayes, single piston disc brake caliper was introduced, the caliper design became to be known as the "wide mouth" design.
It turned out to be one year only design.
Guys that have Superbirds, AAR's, T/A's, or regular production cars with disc brakes, pay big bucks for those calipers, that are correctly restoring them.
They are a gold mine, and yours are rebuilt new.

How the hell did you pull that off, even though they are incorrect for your C body car.
That mistake is going to turn out well for you.
I at one time had two sets of them, and sold them for lots of $$$$$$$$$
Send me a pm, and i will tell you what i sold mine at, without splashing it out in an open forum.

I have them....
That new Chineseum garbage will rip up those Rotors to smithereens....and pulsate like mad, as they grip and grab and rip and shred everything as they attempt to stop......

Im havin fits trying to get correct shoes and drums for rear of my 66 sport fury. U say mobilparts has them?
