while reading the saga of "451 went boom" LocuMob mentioned there was an extensive thread on aluminum heads and how much it cost to unscrew new ones...well just went back through 77 pages and never found it....and tried to search it with equally bad results....so could someone post a link to it...thanks...the 440's in pieces and trying to figure out my options

Why not send LocuMob a PM and see if he knows the name of the thread, or is that to much to ask?? Good Luck

It's on ForABodiesOnly.com if I have time I'll try to find it. It basically covered all the popular brands, Edelbrock, 440Source, and the newer TrickFlow 240 heads. The general idea I was saying is that ANY aluminum head will need to be looked at, and some correcting to the machining by the competent machine shop you choose.

He'd get the same result as what I just posted, but yes, another way to discuss the matter.

I run the out of the box 440 source heads and beat on them as much or more as anyone has and have had zero issues with them, after running them for 2 years i sent them to be cnc ported. I daily drive the car, never garage it, and drive it 80 miles to the track to race it several times a year.

hey thanks for the quick reply locumob...and stubbs my computer skills are so pathetic i'm lucky i even posted this ...never initiated a pm before...and figured someone else might have known the thread without putting the burden on him to find it...

If concerned 440 Source Stealth heads look stock when painted. I guess hence the name?
