Hell Cat powered Ram coming this summer

I wonder if it will be offered in a 4WD, be fun to smoke all four tires at once.

Not a fan of the off road look. Wish they would do a street truck like the SRT-10.

It might ... unless somebody chimes in that works at FCA, or has seen the production models, guess we'll all have to wait.

the teaser vid does suggest tho something with knobby tires and some "lift" that can tear a** on pavement and sand.

i too would like something more street than off-road however.

I would also be wondering if a guy was actually going to use one of these as a truck, say to pull a big *** boat or trailer if he would be able to keep pistons in it on a long steep grade. Going to take a really good fuel and boost management system to keep from burning pistons. They presumably have done lots of testing.

I also wish they’d make an srt10 style truck. The problem with that is I believe the bigger market is for stupid capable trucks that 95% of buyers will use as a pavement princess. The raptor is successful because of those buyers. If it were a low 6-speed road truck on 20s no one would buy a raptor

This reminds me of a time in the mid 90's when me and a young coworker whose parents bought him a nice truck would go to car lots and be taken seriously like we actually had money.
I said to the dealer that Dodge should put the viper drivetrain in a short box 2wd pickup and that they would sell. He gave us a list of reasons why that would never happen. I specifically remember him saying their EPA rating would be effected and each truck would equal one less viper they could build.

Well you know what happened in the near future...

Turned out a certain segment of the truck buyer market was willing to pay the mileage tax and everybody was happy. Mopar needed a high output engine to compete with the big block Fords and Chevys. V-10 was based on the 2nd generation LA series with 2 extra cylinders added.
