Lowered '65 New Yorker 15" tire size?

What diameter or 15" tire size are you lowered c- body guys running? I'm going to be lowering my '65 New Yorker w/side skirts.

Going to buy new tires first, and want the new ones to still fit after lowering.

I'm looking at 225/70-15

2 or 3 inch block drop on the rear, torsion bar adjustment in the rear till it looks/rides good.

If you want it to ride good then don’t lower it.
2-3” is gonna fudge it all down the toilet.

Keep in mind that lowering your Chrysler by 2"-3" is going to leave you tail dragging at every drive way and dropping the front suspension by that much is going to mess up the steering geometry something awful to where it is also going to eat front tires.

Lowering torsion bars affects camber I believe, if your driving very little, it's probably ok. If your doing 65 on 50 yrd old balljoints, not good

Dropped the front 1 inch. Haven't block dropped the rear yet. Will be getting a wheel alignment.

This car is a slow local weekend cruiser. Maybe a trip to Detroit once a year.

I've got heavy duty leaf springs on the rear, for class IV hauling. Its sitting very high.

Ill be curious on how it rides. Luckily it can be undone cheaply and easily...but don't want to buy brand new tires twice.

Anyone have any info on the tires sizes for 1" front and 2" rear drop? Tires are my only real concern.

So far, researching, I am finding stock diameter or even slightly less will be fine- but I wanted to double check here first and foremost.

All I wanted was an educated or experienced reply in help to some tire sizes..in hopes of not wasting good $$$ that would be better used to continue the car project I currently enjoy....the way I enjoy it...

I expected better here...

True, given enough $$$$ most anything can be done. The point was that those like @davealux who are 60+ have seen lots of folks come and go with their "good ideas" which unfortunately, oftentimes fail, so they offer their wisdom. Whether that wisdom is accepted or not is up to the vehicle owner, who was at least warned of probable outcomes.

That's the benefit of a forum like this, lots of advice and wisdom provided to those willing to listen and learn.
