Hello all, I am helping the elderly 2nd owner of this wagon fix a few things so he can sell it. I hope this forum can help with a few things... First off he bought this in 1974 to cart around his 5 daughters and it served them well. Its a green/woodgrain with the 440/727 auto and it runs quite well. About 97,700 miles.. a/c Needs recharge r12..ps/pb/pw/cc/..body really solid...nice interior...but what really hurt was it was being stored under a framed shelter and it collapsed snow on the roof which got in and destroyed the headliner and carpeting. I don't think fixing those 2 issues would bring that much more to him but who knows...a few more things I noticed on my drive to my home were the headlight switch wont pull out..sticky heater controls..horn inop/..speedo works but odometer intermittent?..drivers side fender top bulb inop...this sadly is the first Plymouth I've worked on! Any help will be appreciated!!

Since he's just looking to sell it, the best plan would probably be to just check things over to make sure there aren't any dire safety related issues, clean it up real good, and put it up for sale. The headlamp switch is readily available and less than $20, but a good amount of work to replace. I would skip the HVAC issues, as that's going to cost a fortune to fix properly. Headliner and carpet are time and money too, but they are available if you decide to replace them. I'd check the rubber fuel lines for cracks and leaks so that the car doesn't end up bursting into flames and also the condition of the brake lines and tires if anyone is going to be driving it around on test drives etc.

Jeff, thanks for the reply... as for it’s running condition it’s been regularly driven and serviced at a local shop so from aside from the issues I mentioned it’s good.

freed up the light switch but headlights dont work...all others do...ill be checking fuses...
Check the foot dimmer switch..common for them to go out and not light the headlights.
Cheap common part at any jobber
Hope this helps

Here is a link to a site which has a 1972 Chrysler wiring diagram. CHRYSLER use this to help trace the wiring. You can also look on-line to find one specific to the wagon. Do you have any pictures that you can upload.

I do have pics but am not very good at uploading... a dumb question but.... why is there 2 floor high beam switches??

One is high beam headlight...
The other is radio station select...

So have we determined a selling price yet??

This Town and Country sold really quickly on Facebook. Saw the post late Friday night and by early Saturday morning listed as sold.
I just hope she has found a good home and is in good hands.

King, it sold to a farmer in new ulm Mn and he is thrilled... the older previous owner is also overjoyed it went to someone who loves and collects wagons!
