I need a spare tire for a 1969 chrysler 300 and i am having a hard time finding a rim to fit. Can a ford rim fit on this car. 15 x 8 1/2 -5 x 4 1/2 ?

A 15" x 8 1/2" is a wide rim. Probably to wide for your car. Some Ford rims have a smaller diameter hub hole that won't fit over the spindle.

Are you looking for a plain black steel rim or something else like the 16 slot road wheels that were offered from 1970 & up.

Any 15" Mopar (non Imperial) rim all the way to 1989 M body is a perfect bolt on. No need to worry about hub fit like with a Ford rim.

Do you have drum brakes? Drum look like this? If so you'll need to find the correct wheel to fit this drum. The mounting surface is significantly recessed requiring a matching wheel. I believe 1969 was the first year for this drum. 2¢

You can use an earlier wheel with a thin (1/4"?) spacer. Not the best solution, but for a spare that might get used once or twice, it will work just fine.

There are some earlier Ford wheels that will work, but the best solution is a genuine Chrysler 15" wheel. A Ford wheel will have a larger center hole.

If you don't mind spending a little $$, there is this option.
Mopar Standard Steel Wheel

It's too bad you aren't in Carlisle this weekend. I'm sure you could find a decent wheel for a good price with a little searching.

I would suggest you place an advertisement in our wanted section. I'm sure someone could come up with a wheel for you, possibly in your area. Shipping might hurt, but a nice southern wheel rather than a rust pitted northern wheel is a real bonus. I have a rusty northern wheel sitting out back that you can have, but I wouldn't even think about it holding air... and it's 6 hours away.

The W23 Class II 16-Slot 15x6 Road Wheels will work with those "full-fined" drums. That's what's on my '70 Monaco, 4-whl power drum brakes. FWIW. BUT the spare wheel/tire is a normal black steel rim, with the correct mounting to go a bit deeper to clear the fins.

If you can use the spacer, you might need longer lug studs, as a result?

The Ford 5x4.5 bolt circle is the same as the (non-Imperial and some A-body "small pattern" wheels) Chrysler pattern, BUT that hub ring can vary between Ford and Chry wheels. In the old Mopar Style board, one poster was wanting to use the Crown Vic "wire mags" on his car, but had to enlarge the center hole on a lathe for them to work.

Just some thoughts,
