Friday night -- all is calm, all is beautiful....
We DoDGEd the big one today !!!! That tropical storm Faye (no hurricane --
"Only" 50 - 60 mile winds, but a wide, wide swarth of Heavy Rain, battered the area from the Atlantic Coast to Harrisburg -- 15 miles from here !!!!
We, luckily and thankfully, got NOT a Drop !!!!!!
As we speak, New Jersey and Long Island are getting slammed, it will continue to batter the coast and Cape Cod is now direct center.....
And we at Chrysler's @ Carlisle had a drop dead gorgeous day !!!!!

We all agree that 75 % of the vendors are here, the foot traffic is about
50 - 60 %.... And we shall see what tomorrow will bring....

Are you still on the fence about coming ????? Come on down !!!!!!!!
Yours, Craig.....

To echo the previous post. Just got back from a great day out at the Mopar Nats at Carlisle. As stated, pretty full of cars and vendors but as reported the crowd was not as heavy as other years. Took the 66 Newport. Felt great to be out on the road and at a show. There was a good group of C buddies represented on the field. Went over to South Mountain Raceway for Mopars on the Mountain cruise-in On the way back but not a soul around. That was at 7 pm. Was I too late to early? Was it cancelled? All the best, Retroman

Others will have to chime in on whether there are any
"C"s for sale....
A regular customer of mine sold his 1970 Cuda --
And my usual across the row neighbors sold his 1966
Satellite....
So, I do know of two cars that changed hands.....but not "C"s...

Hello - I was at Carlisle for a few hours yesterday morning. I was passing through the area. It was a little thin but nice to see some nice Mopars! I heard there was a 1970 Chrysler 300 console for sale - did anyone else see this? If you are still at the show and see it could you please get his contact information- I am interested- thanks and have a great show!

Saturday night @ Chrysler's @ Carlisle.... Approaching midnight .... Just stepped out of a feels sooooo good shower...
Drop dead gorgeous day here at Carlisle... Nice breeze all day -- 10 - 15 miles per hour -- even too much -- 20 to 25 sometimes...
But you really couldn't ask for much more these 5 days --- 1/2 a day to go....
The last three years, Carlisle set records with 2804, 2826, and 2844 cars respectively..... (That includes the Omnis, Neons, and P T Cruisers...)
I had 20 of my friends estimate -- and their guesstimates ranged from 1200 to 1800 --- so there were 1500 - 1600 ish cars in the car show field....
Not bad at all, and a decent amount of 1st timers....
Our C Body Men were awesome last year of providing video evidence of the 2019 event --- and since too many of you were forced to miss 2020 -- hopefully, they are on top of a nice account of what happened here this week !!!!!!
Sincerely hope all those who were here had a great time, and we all want to see all of us here next year.
Stay Safe all, God Bless all of us, here or not --- we are all friends and family !!!!!!!
Yours, Craig.....

I'm betting closer to 2000 cars

I spoke with a friend from mopar action magazine about 1:00, and at that that time we had already crossed the 2,000 mark. I dont know what the final count ended up being.

Over 2000 !!!! Not bad at all, then !!!!!
(Do we know how to make an event great ?!?!?!)

Not bad at all. Really showed everyone it could be done with the current situation.

How was traffic in the swap area.
I stopped by for a few minutes and you looked pretty busy.

It was decent, indeed, thanks for asking....
I had nine orders for people -- from Buffalo -- to Michigan & elsewhere -- and all nine got picked up...
9 for 9 is always good.
Sold a lot of "C", "B", and "E" , not too much "A"...
Scott "Locumob" let Allen from New Jersey take his brake drums -- and I will take care of Scott next year -- he can wait -- and Scott from Minnesota !!!! 17 hour drive -- fell in love with this place -- and WILL be back next year !!!!!!
Sold a lot of Asbestos Shoes & Pads, a decent amount of drums and rotors, a lot of Front End, and amazingly, only a few Beige / Tan distributor caps ?!?
I would rate sales an A-/B+ if this was a normal year;
Given the situation, and the lesser attendance, and my lowered expectations, I would actually rate the show an A + !!!!!!
And the camaraderie, the friendships, the conversations, the quality of life had to rate an A+++++++.... I worked VERY hard, and VERY LONG
Hours, but this has been a GREAT 5 days of life !!!!!
Thanxxx all, Craig......

I did see the console. The asking price was either $1100 or $1500. I believe that a friend of mine knows the seller, who should be from the eastern PA or Jersey area. If you're still interested at that price range, PM me and I'll see if I can get contact info for you.

Did you try to talk a young boy into a push up contest?

I thought that all things considered it was a good show. On the way in Friday morning I said to Olivia and Aaron what haven't we seen. We had seen a single classic car in our four hour drive, not one. We were about 5 miles out from Carlisle. Then there wasn't a line backed out the gate. Yikes.

All is well that ends well. A good weekend.

The weather was beautiful, little warm, Thursday was brutal. Friday Carlisle was hanging out in the middle of 2 storms, the listed tropical storm, and while we were hanging out watching the Autocross competition (won by a 68 Charger, so take that metric, and Neons) my friend gets a call from his wife, lawn furniture blowing all over the yard. It sprinkled about 30 seconds Saturday evening. It is a great show anyone that poo-poos on Carlisle is a Debbie downer so stay away, everyone else come on down it's a great time. I thought attendance was decent considering all the BS going on.

Livefortheking,
Yes... Two 10 year old kids from separate families just happened to roll in at the same time...
So, I offered a $ 10 prize to the winner of who could do the best looking 10 good pushups... (They didn't know it -- but I was going to give $ 5 to "2nd place!!!")
Neither kid had any intention of doing any pushups
--- so I said, " Oh, it's too hot for that " -- and gave them and their sisters four (4) ice cold waters....
And announced" You all are winners now!!!"
(But no -- push up contest never happened !!!! It's
Funny -- I had forgotten about that !!!! I like having fun....)
Yours, Craig
(P.S. -- were you one of the families????)

You bet. You started out by trying to introduce my daughter to the other boy. Then the push up contest. My boy should've took you up on that challenge.

I think I bought something from you last last year. I need to talk to you about business for my 68 NYer.

I wish I would've realized it was you.

Livefortheking,
I am on my way home... In New Jersey waiting out traffic back to New York... And letting the heavy loaded van get a necessary breather...
It is funny --- at ten years old , boys don't usually like girls, and girls don't like boys -- so you usually get an
" Oooooooh - no way face"" from them....
(I have found that kids that young at a car show ---
Especially in the swap meet area have a short attention span -- and can sometimes be a "burden" on a Dad trying to shop for the parts he needs...)
So, it is fun to interject a little bit of innocent fun into their lives.... And, if it cost me $ 15 --- we all would have had some laughs and chuckles !!!!! Well worth it....
Give me a call when you need or want --- Craig ---
516 - 485 - 1935........

Hey Livefortheking,
Hey, if the 2nd place finisher in the push up contest complained about finishing 2nd -- you know how I would have settled it ????
"Too close to call," I would have said, " I think we have to call it a tie for First Place" and hand both kids $ 10 each....
Did I throw away $ 20 ?!?!? I don't think so -- both families would be laughing, both of the young men would have been $ 10 richer (I certainly would have given them the cold waters after knocking out 10 push-up s), and we all would have had fun !!!!!
(Maybe, next year!!!! --- $ 11 for 1st place...)
