Made some more progress the past couple of days. Got the rear end finished up. Gotta put in the drive shaft then on to the front suspension and finishing the front disc conversion. My youngest boy has been spending his evenings with me vs the computer so it’s been great.

Good work!
Have your son help you with insulating, wiring and drywalling the shop too!

Joe: Your coming along great .Everything looks to falling into place for you and your son.car looks great. At the rate your going you may see the road this year. There is a all Mopar get together in Myersdale,PA the second week of September it's put on by a local guy Gene Henkel @ the Somerset County fairgrounds. You can find him on facebook. We have been going the last 3 years or so a lot of nice cars and people from the tri-state area. Maybe we can go together.

Sounds like a plan Mark. I hope to get it on the road by the end of July. I better get some wheels/tires ordered soon though as these look to be really old. Got the drive shaft installed tonight along with the PS pump and gear. Tomorrow I should finish plumbing the front brakes and then on to the front suspension.

Joe: I am really impressed with how much progress you and your son have made in such a short time. will look forward to getting together when your done.

Front is higher than the rear. Hold them where the balljoint is level. The high end goes to the front. Low end to the rear.

Started mocking up the front end. Realized I didn’t get new strut rod bushings mainly because they seem to be hard to find or weren’t listed on rockauto when I got a bunch of the parts a couple of years ago. One set seemed reusable but the other was tore up. Anyhow ordered some tonight along with torsion bar balloon seals just to finish off all the last of the original rubber parts. I guess this will delay me by a few more days but there aren’t too many parts left to assemble.

where did you get your front end parts? Did it come in a kit or did you have to order everything separately?
I got everything separately. A combination of RockAuto for the stuff they list, ebay for the Moog Lowers, strut rod bushings, torsion bar boots, pitman arm. Quite a PIA to track down.

I cranked up the torsion bars and the car is sitting at a better height now. Not sure what it should be but the stance looks good. Top of wheel well is 28” above the ground.

My first attempt at starting it did not go so well. First off the horn was blowing as soon as I connected the battery. Couldn’t get it to stop until I pulled the relay. Engine turned over good, but only produced some loud backfires from the exhaust and some carb back fire too. Maybe timing is too advanced? I did adjust it to TDC and then turned clockwise a bit to get some advance. The Distributer was not tightened down though and could have slipped back a bit. Do you normally pull all the plug wires to look at the insides? I have to. I had gone through about everything so the carb could be set up poorly. I adjusted both mixture screws 1 1/2 turns from fully seated. My new plug wires get here Monday so still using the old ones until then. I’ll probably reset the distributor tomorrow and try again.
