73 CHRYSLER NY 440cui - cars & trucks - by owner - vehicle...

The pictures say it all about the 1973 Chrysler New Yorker Brougham with only 84K miles!!

The car is clean, the brocade interior is very good, The vinyl top is new, The paint is original
and good - garage stored, it has a rare double capacity A/C, torsion bar suspension and that Big 440 cui
engine has the 4 barrel carb.

To own this low cost classic, call for more information..

nice car .. but also getting a bad 'scamster' vibe from it. hope not .. but the old saying "if its too good to be true ....."

If legit tho, i'd grab it today just to keep it away from derbiers/reapers and then i'd offer it up here it at acquisition cost to a true c-body lover.

I reached out via text at about 7AM CT. I was told that it’s gone already. Hopefully it went to a good home. Here are some photos for posterity.

Edit: the ad has been removed.

"Almost" is the key word. Different hubcaps mean little. The steering wheel, however, is a different matter: what is the likelihood that the low-end steering wheel, seen in perfect condition in the 2012 pics of today's ad, would have been replaced by an cracked rimblow wheel (with tilt, no less) seen in the 2019 photos of the Columbus, OH ad? Zero I'd say.

This said, amazing to see two seemingly nice 1973 NYB 4dr hardtops for sale within a year, in the same paint/interior/top combo, within a few hundred miles of one another!

There was a third one for sale at the same time the Columbus car was on Craigslist. Same exact color combo, and in the same general area, Ohio or Indiana. I think it was priced a bit higher than the Columbus car.

Wow, that makes four.

I wonder if that was some kind of Spring Special package for the New Yorkers?

It wasnt a scam. I talked to the guy.

Agreed. From my own limited interaction with the seller, IMO it wasn’t a scam.

Did you learn more about the car? What else was wrong with, if anything?

He is elderly. Had up 6 boats at one time. He has a 69 Imp he is considering selling. Just cant work on them anymore. We are all gonna be there before we know it. I was just guessing on the relay. Hell, could of been the ballist resister.

Ya....this guy sent a couple pix's of this car3 years ago....Cosmetically it's very nice! I think it's a good buy IMO!

Yes guys was not a scam. Very cool low mile New Yorker that is like new.Just needs a few things.

It seems that you bought it? If so, it'd be great if you could more about the car and what you plan to do with it -- either here (but this thread will soon be closed), in your own thread, or in the 1973 Chrysler thread.

Yes i own it and it will need a new motor. motor is locked up. So in reality the price of the car was fair for the seller and buyer. I will be pulling the engine and rebuilding and have fun with it. Was hoping it was gonna be something easier but the car is worth it. I have owned 75 mopars and never saw one so clean with a locked motor lol.

That's great news that it's gone to a good home. You always worry about anything that's in the sub-$2000 demo derby price territory. Please keep us posted on your progress.
