i want to get plug wires for one of my other cars. are all taylor plug wires made in the usa and are they good wires. i hate the thought of getting them and seeing made in china on the box.

Seems to me mine were, but they've been on there for about ten years now.

I've used Taylor's a couple of times. Had a good set and a not so good set. Perhaps the quality control is not good enough?

Are you getting "cut to fit" or "ready-made" wire sets? With the mix of boot styles that the OEM wires used?

Somewhere, in the Standard Motor Parts online catalog, there's a listing for Chrysler B/RB plug wires. Which has specs on the length and boot angles on teh plug ends. They're NOT all the same, year to year. This can be very good information to have!

Seems that #7 plug wire on my '70 DH43N0D was having durability issues, back when I was driving it all of the time in the middle '70s. I wanted "something better" and Taylor was listed as "a better choice", so I got one wire and terminated it for the distributor. As things worked out, it was really no better than anything else back then. Possibly the larger boot didn't help matters, either. I just remember that I was not impressed.

I fully understand buying USA items and such, BUT that might not always ensure superior fitment or durability. Brand name, as well as good fit/durability at a reasonable price (usually lower) are more important to me than specifically buying something built in the USA just because it IS built in the USA. Be that as it m

Since their inception, I've used magnetic suppression wires. I first found them in a Sorensen brand in the later '60s, then used Borg-Warner Kool Wires in the earlier '80s to present. No worries about a carbon core having issues as it ages. Only TWO wires in the 4 sets or so of them had issues. The ones I put on my '77 Camaro now have over 750K miles on them with NO issues, for example. They are now "BWD" and sold by Standard Motor Parts. Not terribly expensive, either. What I like is their OEM colors, plus the type of conductor. Haven't bought any for a Chry B/RB application lately, though.

Whatever you get, investigate the warranty and return policies. Test fit them BEFORE finalizing the installation. Better if there's a local place you can purchase them, too!

In one respect, once you get past the wire's conductor core, then it's all about the insulation (size/quality/color) and boot ends. Which means that a mid-priced set can be just as good as "the high-priced" stuff, by observation. You might shop www.rockauto.com to see what's available, then shop locally to see if some of the same stuff might be available at similar prices. Buying locally, if you have some issues, you have LOCAL support that somebody at the end of a phone line miles away to deal with.

Enjoy!
