I bought a Monaco from this guy a week ago & he had this 69 Satellite he wanted to sell also. It’s a 4 door sedan that’s had the back doors welded shut. Body looked good but there was holes in the floor & the trunk pan had rotted away & a sheet of steel poorly welded in. Late model bucket seats installed. And get this it’s a slant 6 car. He said it ran when parked over a year ago but the valve cover was in the trunk. It was 100 degrees & I had just loaded the Monaco & wanted to get back in my air conditioned truck & hit the road back home so I didn’t look into it as good as I should have. Now I have a pair of doors from a 2 door 68 Satellite that will help make the conversion look better. Yea I know the roof is different. So what should I do with this varmit. Part it, get it running & drive it like it is , put the 2 door doors on it & continue it as a custome job. Flip it to someone for a profit

If you have the cash, i would think that a one of none custom 2 dr post would be a point of conversation.

The purist's will hate it,...the 2 dr group will hate it... the more door groups will hate it...

It's essentially a bastard child right now so why not finish it and give it a life of its' own?

The only way you’re going to make money on it is to part it as long as you don’t pay too much. You’d have to move the B pillar to put coupe doors on it and I just had to look at pics of my ‘68 RR to remember it’s a post coupe so I’m sure it wouldn’t be hard to find one of those if that’s what you wanted.:poke::lol:
Oh and the roofline is wrong for any of that anyway...:stop:

Oh I don’t really want it. Just trying to save it before a demo guy gets it.

parts or walk away.
Walking away is not in my DNA. If you follow my threads on here over the years you’ll see I’ve bought dozens of cars. Found homes for a few. Parted the others to help save cars. Demo guys are beating this guys doors down

Thanks for saving it from the demo-nstrators! I'd get the slant 6 running well, clean it up a bit and drive it! Eventually a 2 door conversion would be cool, but not a requirement. Wish you were closer, heck that would be a fun car.

Wonder why? My experience is that the lighter B bodies, similar to a late 60’s Fairlane, just don’t have the guts like a C body for a derby. In fact, C bodies were superior to Cadillacs, Lincolns and other full size GM lines, simply due to the cavernous area between the front bumper and radiator support.

maybe the pickin’s are getting so slim that the derby people are happy with just finding a rear wheel drive vehicle...

They demo everything. Different classes. The local guy here in town has everything from Japanese imports to cordobas to crown Vic’s to New Yorkers.

I wonder what the fender tag looks like... I'm thinking taxi or fleet car. Good luck with which ever way you go.
