Mr Grumpy is selling his car ! which may be a bargain ? hard to tell from the 3 pics...

https://nh.craigslist.org/cto/d/keene-1972-chrysler-imperial-lebaron/7174506603.html

This is a 72 Chrylser Imperial LeBaron 4 door hardtop, with 440 auto, with 58,000 original well kept miles..I bought this car off the original owners family..The man past away and was in his 80`s..I bought it in 2019 December 25th,Christmas day..Car has never been abused a day in its life..The chome on the bumpers is beautiful and shows that it has always been garage kept.. It is OPTION LOADED POWER everything..Even has power vent wing windows, antenna.Carpeting is very very nice..Seats are mint..Spare tire has never been out of the trunk.I sold it to a close friend of mine...He never drove it 1/10 of a mile.He did put a new master cylinder in it,a rebuilt brake booster...A new fuel pump. Some tune up parts..He rebuilt the carburator..It has had 1 repaint many years ago..A few blemishes in the paint here and there, but clean with a really solid body and almost NEW interior....I will only answer phone calls.Between people who are scammers or no $$ tire kickers,it gets old quickly..I will not reply to a single email/text!!! Not a one..My phone # show contact info
.$5000 firm..I will trade for MOPAR project or Mopar parts cars or Hi performance Mopar parts..I am not interested in ANY GM/FORD/ or any non MOPAR stuff.

A bunch more pics have been added. The car has H53 AutoTemp II (ATC2), whose A/C I would guess does not work; the key question to ask is whether the heater does. The interior looks in great condition, except perhaps for a couple of fraying seams on the driver's seat bottom.

The seller may indeed by a bit grumpy but at least he is selling what appears to be a very nice relatively low mile car for a very reasonable price. Those are the kind of cars that I in the past have bought. Now its someones else's turn............................

This is a good price. I paid 6K for my Michigan '73 Honeydew before the pandemic clusterfu*k. Actually took till today to transfer title on her and the California Golden Hazel 73. I was in DMV for an hour plus.

I’m going to look at this with a friend (he wants it ) tomorrow!! I’ve dealt with Ron before, he changes his tune, when he finds out That you’re a serious potential buyer. But yeah he comes off quite cynical

If you know the seller and vouch for him then that's golden and means a ton. Another great forum perk.

If the heater works, that is a good sign for the functioning of all the ATC components. But it does look like that car has an original heater control servo under the hood, but it is hard to be sure since I can't see the lower part of it very well. If it is an original servo, it won't last long before the housing and water inlet/outlet crack and start leaking coolant (just as bad as the non ATC original heater control valve canisters did). But at least a replacement servo made of aluminum in those areas solves that problem for the ATC servos. I wish there was a similar option for the standard original heater control valves. The downside is that they cost around $800 last time I checked, but they are well worth it if you want a working ATC system.

nice car.

i am not a buyer, but if i was a buyer I'd likely give him his asking price (after a chat with him) in blink of an eye.

seems worth it to me, title/ATCII hassle potential and all.

hope it finds a good home.

I was ready to hand him his asking price PLUS extra to deliver it (he offered). However, the name Mr. Grumpy is not harsh enough to describe this guy. I was shocked just listening to him talk! He answered the phone and I started with a typical polite "good morning, I'm calling about the 72 for sale, I am interested and I have the cash for it" and he says "Please don't tell me you're a CAR GUY, and just shut up and listen to me while I tell you everything for 2 minutes. Don't talk" and then told me everything about it. Bought it from the original owner, sold it to a friend, friend drove it 2 miles in 4 years, got it back, AC doesn't work, etc etc etc.
TOTAL arrogant jerk, and made me not want to buy the car from him. MOV N UP convinced me to at least run down and look at it because he's not too far away, so I called him back the next morning to tell him I could be down in 2 hours, and he said someone was on their way with the cash and that it would be on his trailer getting delivered by the time I got there. I asked him nicely to let me know if that guy passed and he snapped "I'm not calling you back! I don't have time for THAT!" and told me to call him at noon. When I called at noon, he answered with "I'm 10 minutes away from delivering it" CLICK. Jesus, how can you go through life being such a dick?
