Are there any companies that make quarter patch panels for a 72 fury? I failed inspections after moving to another state for having rust through and jagged edges on the quarter panels, the rest of the car passed. Contemplating just making something with sheet metal just to get through inspection.

That's absurd. Several yards out there will cut panels out for you. But for stuff like that I usually just make it myself.

If you think about buying the eBay C2C junk, here's a video to watch first.

That's really not that bad an idea. Some light sheet metal (refrigerator door is a good source) and some pop rivets will get you through inspection and have you enjoying your car and THEN start looking at the proper repair. For those that are going to disagree, this would be a TEMPORARY repair.

Thanks for the video. What a difference with the c2c one. I had looked into those in the past on eBay. The guy who did the inspection is a old time body guy he said he will do it the right way cutting all the rot out, rebuilding the inner rockers as well as (he said those are soft in spots) fabricating the outer rockers with the right contours for $500 a side. That seems like a fair price considering the work involved.

That is a really good price! I'd jump at it if you think he's capable.

I know, I am going to have him do the work. Even if it’s not perfect for that price it’s a deal and, he will pass it. He says he is going to work on it when it’s slow so it may take a few months but to cut costs.
